Western Washington may be the best French Bulldog climate in the country: cool, mild, and overcast for most of the year, which is exactly what a flat-faced dog wants. HonestPet connects Washington families with vetted breeders who raise Frenchie litters at home and screen the parents for the breathing and spine issues the breed carries. Every puppy arrives vet-checked and microchipped, and ground delivery is free to any Washington address, Bellingham to Walla Walla.

THE HONESTPET DIFFERENCE
Why Washington Families Choose HonestPet for a French Bulldog
Buying a puppy online takes trust. Here's what you can count on when you work with us.
Raised in Breeders' Homes
Our breeders raise their French Bulldogs in the living room, where the puppies learn the dishwasher, the delivery driver, and the toddler before they're old enough to leave. A Frenchie that spent its first eight weeks in a family instead of a kennel building settles into a Capitol Hill apartment, a Kirkland townhouse, or a house on the South Hill in Spokane the first night.
Handled From Day Three
Our breeders begin Early Neurological Stimulation when puppies are three days old and follow Puppy Culture practices until they’re ready to join their new families. Short, gentle daily handling helps puppies become more comfortable with new experiences as they grow.
Parent Health Records
Each puppy’s listing identifies the DNA testing status of both mom and dad. Ask to review available parent health records, including any breathing, spine, hip, and knee assessments; screening coverage varies by parent.
Honest Puppy Matching
We'll tell you which puppy suits your household rather than which one photographs best. For a Belltown couple who'll take the dog on the ferry to Bainbridge, that's the calm pup that breathes easiest in a carrier; for a Tacoma family with a yard and kids, it's the sturdier one that wants a job in every game.
A Guarantee in Writing
Every puppy comes with a 10-year genetic health guarantee and a digital copy of their vet and vaccine records.
Support for Life
Message our Care360 Team at 10 weeks or 10 years. We stay in touch with our families for the life of the dog.
STATEWIDE DELIVERY
French Bulldog Puppies Delivered Anywhere in Washington
Every HonestPet French Bulldog is raised in the home of a breeder we've vetted; no store or broker is ever involved. Washington families choose free ground delivery to the door or a flight nanny who carries the puppy in the cabin into Sea-Tac, Spokane, or another airport we serve. Flat-faced breeds can't fly cargo, so cabin is the only kind of flight we book, and because the trip west is a long one, the nanny takes nonstops wherever they exist.

Why French Bulldogs Thrive in Washington, Wet Side and Dry
A French Bulldog is a 20-to-28-pound comedian with bat ears and a flat face, and it wants exactly what a Seattle apartment offers: a short walk, a warm couch, and not much else. The Puget Sound climate is close to ideal for a brachycephalic dog, with cool summers and no real humidity, which is why Frenchies are everywhere from Ballard to Bellevue. Two Washington-specific cautions: most older Seattle homes have no air conditioning, and the heat waves that now arrive most summers are dangerous for a flat-faced dog without it, and east of the Cascades, Spokane and the Tri-Cities run hot and dry in July and August, which means early walks and a cool house.
Apartment-Friendly Size
Our French Bulldogs land between 20 and 28 pounds. That's under the pet cap in most Seattle, Bellevue, and Tacoma buildings, fits the carrier Sound Transit and the ferries ask for, and is light enough to carry up the hill from the Fremont Bridge, which a Frenchie will expect you to do.
Short, Smooth Coat
French Bulldogs have short, smooth coats and do shed. Regular brushing helps manage loose hair, and their skin folds need gentle cleaning and drying. They are not a hypoallergenic breed.
Playful Family Companions
Frenchies are playful and affectionate. Supervise interactions with children, teach gentle handling, and give your puppy a quiet place to rest. Keep play short and cool rather than encouraging rough play or long chases.
Patient, Positive Training
A Frenchie can be clever and independent. Use short sessions, rewards, and consistent potty routines to build good habits. Our lifetime training support helps you work through puppy manners without harsh methods.
Short Walks, Cool Play
Two short walks and some play on the rug are all the exercise a Frenchie needs, and in Western Washington you can take them almost any time of day for ten months of the year. On the hot days, keep a portable AC or at least a fan and a cool floor, since a Frenchie overheats in an 85-degree apartment with no airflow. During late-summer wildfire smoke, keep a flat-faced dog indoors entirely, because a short airway handles smoke worse than any other breed's. And on the Sound, at Lake Washington, or on a boat, a life vest goes on at the dock, because French Bulldogs sink.
Made for Company
French Bulldogs enjoy being near their people. Build up time alone gradually, and arrange company and potty breaks when you will be away for long stretches. An air-conditioned home and a predictable routine help them stay comfortable.

GETTING YOUR PUPPY HOME
Three Ways to Get Your French Bulldog Home
Most Washington families take free ground delivery to the door, which for a Frenchie is a long but entirely controlled trip in a cooled vehicle. Families who prefer to fly use our flight nanny, who carries the puppy in the cabin to one of six airports serving Washington on a nonstop wherever one exists; cargo is never used for a French Bulldog, by airline rule and by ours. Either way, we set the date with you and send updates until the puppy is home.
Most Popular
Ground Transport
Ground delivery is our preference for a Frenchie, and the Washington route is planned for the distance: climate-controlled vehicle, ventilated crate, short stops, an overnight if the drive calls for it, and a handoff timed for a cool part of the day on the east side in summer. The puppy arrives rested at your door rather than at a terminal.
Pick Up at the Breeder
Hoping to meet your puppy first? If the breeder's location and schedule make it possible, HonestPet can help arrange an in-person visit before your Frenchie makes the trip to Washington.
Flight Nanny
A flat $799 to any airport we serve for Washington. Your Frenchie flies in a ventilated soft carrier at the nanny's feet in the cabin, the only way this breed is permitted to fly, and the nanny books a nonstop into Sea-Tac or Spokane whenever one exists so a flat-faced puppy isn't sitting through a layover. Your nanny walks out at arrivals and hands you the puppy.

HEALTH FIRST
French Bulldog Health and Parent Screening
French Bulldogs need particular attention to breathing, heat tolerance, and spine and joint health. Parent screening and available records vary by dog; ask to review the findings for the parents of the puppy you are considering. A DNA test or veterinary exam is not a guarantee against future breathing or mobility problems, and your vet can help plan ongoing care.
Parents & puppies
Airway and Breathing
Flat-faced dogs can have narrowed nostrils and other airway problems. Ask what breathing assessments are available for the parents, and discuss your puppy's breathing with your vet. Snoring and poor exercise tolerance deserve attention rather than being dismissed as normal.
Parents & puppies
Spine and Back Health
Ask about the parents' spine-health history and any available veterinary findings. French Bulldogs can develop spinal problems; keeping them lean and using ramps instead of repeated jumps can help with daily care, but does not eliminate the risk.
Parents & puppies
Hips and Knees
Review any available hip and knee assessments for the parents with our team. Your vet can check your puppy's gait and joints and advise on suitable exercise. Do not assume every parent has had the same examinations.
Parents & puppies
Eye Health
Ask which parent eye examinations or genetic results are available. Frenchies' prominent eyes need care; contact your vet about redness, squinting, or discharge, and protect the eyes during play.
Puppies
Skin Folds and Care
Discuss skin-fold cleaning and any signs of irritation with your vet. Keep folds clean and dry, watch for itching or redness, and ask for guidance before using skin products. Short coats still need regular brushing.
Parents
Parent Health Records
Each puppy’s listing identifies the DNA testing status of both mom and dad. Ask to review available parent health and genetic records before reserving. Genetic results do not replace a clinical assessment of breathing, spine, or joint health.
Puppies
Vet Exam
Before departure for Washington, a licensed vet examines every Frenchie with the breed's known weak points front and center: nostril openings, breathing at rest and after play, spine alignment, hips and knees, and the skin folds. The vet issues the certificate of veterinary inspection Washington requires for dogs entering the state, and the exam notes, breathing included, go into the puppy's digital records for your Seattle or Spokane vet.
Puppies
Shots, Deworming, Microchip
Every age-appropriate core vaccine is on record, and the puppy has been dewormed on a routine since its first weeks. Your Washington vet completes the series, including the rabies shot state law requires for every dog and most cities require before a license, and should talk with you about fold care in a damp climate, since Western Washington's rain keeps a Frenchie's face folds wet and prone to yeast, and about keeping the puppy lean, because weight narrows an already narrow airway. The puppy is chipped before departure, and we handle the registration transfer to you.

French Bulldog Puppy FAQs
Prices vary by puppy. See each available puppy’s listing for the current price, and ask our team to explain the total before reserving. Every puppy comes with a vet exam, age-appropriate vaccinations, deworming, a microchip, digital records, lifetime training and support, and free ground delivery to your home.
Yes. Most Washington families take free ground delivery to the door, with the puppy in a climate-controlled vehicle for the whole trip west. In-cabin flight nanny delivery is also available into Seattle-Tacoma, Paine Field in Everett, Spokane, the Tri-Cities, Bellingham, and Portland for Vancouver-area families, depending on route and availability, with the puppy at the nanny's feet in the cabin. No French Bulldog we place flies as cargo.
Yes. French Bulldogs have short, smooth coats that shed, and they are not hypoallergenic. Regular brushing helps manage loose hair. If allergies are a concern, discuss the individual puppy with our team before deciding.
Our French Bulldogs typically finish between 20 and 28 pounds. Review the individual puppy’s estimated adult size and parent information with our team, and check your building's pet policy before reserving.
Your puppy comes home with a starter bag of food, a blanket that smells like their littermates, a toy, microchip details, and a digital copy of their vet and vaccine records.
Pick an available puppy then send us an inquiry. After we talk, review the current reservation amount for your puppy before placing your deposit. The deposit goes toward the total price, and the balance is due before go-home day.
Parent testing varies by breeder and by dog. Review the available DNA testing status and health records for the puppy’s mom and dad with our team, including any breathing, spine, hip, and knee assessments. Every puppy receives a veterinary exam, age-appropriate vaccinations, deworming, and a microchip before going home. Your vet can help plan ongoing French Bulldog care; screening does not guarantee freedom from future health problems.
Each breeder may have a different preferred puppy food, so we provide the specific brand and formula your puppy is currently eating to help make the transition to your home as smooth as possible. If you decide to switch foods, we recommend transitioning gradually to help avoid digestive upset.
Free ground delivery to the door is how most of our Washington French Bulldogs arrive. For families who'd rather fly, the flight nanny brings the puppy in the cabin to one of six airports serving Washington, carrier at their feet in cabin air the entire way and nonstop wherever possible.

What ground delivery looks like
We set the date together.Once the vet clears your puppy to travel, we schedule a delivery day and give you an arrival window.
Your puppy rides with a trained handler. They travel in their own crate in a climate-controlled vehicle, with regular stops for water, food, and potty breaks.
We keep you posted. Our delivery team sends updates along the way and lets you know when your puppy is getting close.
We bring your puppy to your door. The handler brings your Frenchie and the starter bag to your door and covers the first-day basics for a flat-faced breed before leaving. In a Seattle or Bellevue building they'll coordinate access ahead of time, and on the dry side in summer the handoff is scheduled for early morning, since a French Bulldog shouldn't wait in Tri-Cities heat.
Help them settle in.Have a crate, a few puppy pads, water, and their food ready so your puppy can rest after the trip.

WASHINGTON QUESTIONS
Getting a French Bulldog in Washington: Your Questions Answered
The 2021 pet store law, city licensing, heat waves without AC, wildfire smoke, and the long flight west: what Washington Frenchie families want to know.
Almost certainly not. Washington's 2021 law stopped any pet store that wasn't already selling dogs from starting, and the few grandfathered stores work under tight limits, so French Bulldogs have essentially disappeared from store windows across the state. HonestPet is not a pet store. We connect Washington families directly with vetted breeders who raise Frenchies in their homes, share the parents' airway and spine screening, and coordinate delivery to your door.
It might be the perfect one. A Frenchie almost never barks, needs little exercise, and is happy in a Capitol Hill studio, and Seattle's cool, cloudy weather is kind to a flat-faced dog for most of the year. The one thing to plan for is the handful of hot days, because many Seattle apartments have no air conditioning and a French Bulldog can overheat indoors above 85 degrees; a portable AC unit or a cooling mat and a fan solves it. Check your building's weight limit, which a Frenchie clears nearly everywhere.
Licensing in Washington is handled by cities and counties, and most require it. In Seattle you license through the Seattle Animal Shelter, in unincorporated King County and many Eastside cities through Regional Animal Services of King County, and in Spokane through SCRAPS. Bring a current rabies certificate, which state law requires for every dog, and expect a lower fee for a spayed or neutered Frenchie.
Once you reserve, HonestPet plans the trip from the breeder's home to yours in Washington. The puppy gets a final vet exam with breathing checked at rest and after play, then travels in a climate-controlled delivery vehicle, with an overnight if the distance calls for it, or in the cabin with a flight nanny on a nonstop, never as cargo. You'll have the full schedule before departure and a message at every leg.
Longer than most, 4 to 5 hours depending on the breeder's location, which is why the nanny insists on a nonstop into Sea-Tac or Spokane for a brachycephalic puppy and keeps the carrier where the cabin air moves. Your Frenchie stays in a ventilated carrier at the nanny's feet the entire flight. A French Bulldog never flies in the hold.
In some cases. When the breeder's location and schedule line up, HonestPet can arrange a visit so you can meet the puppy and the parents and listen to how the adults breathe after a bit of play. Because our breeders are spread across the country and we keep their locations private, visits are arranged one family at a time rather than offered as open hours.
