THE HONESTPET DIFFERENCE

Why Washington Families Choose HonestPet

Buying a puppy online takes trust. Here's what you can count on when you work with us.

Raised in Breeders' Homes

Our breeders raise litters inside their own homes, not kennel buildings. Puppies that have already lived with kids, doorbells, and a dishwasher running settle in quickly, whether they're moving into a Capitol Hill condo, a Kirkland split-level, or a house near the water in Gig Harbor.

Handled From Day Three

Our breeders begin Early Neurological Stimulation when puppies are three days old and follow Puppy Culture practices until they’re ready to join their new families. Short, gentle daily handling helps puppies become more comfortable with new experiences as they grow.

Health-Tested Parents

Most of our puppies’ parents are DNA tested. Each puppy’s listing identifies the DNA testing status of both mom and dad, so you can review this information before choosing your puppy.

Honest Puppy Matching

We'll tell you which puppy fits your life, even if it isn't the one you first picked. A quiet pup for a Queen Anne apartment, a sturdier, bolder one for an Issaquah family that spends weekends on Tiger Mountain.

A Guarantee in Writing

Every puppy comes with a 10-year genetic health guarantee and a digital copy of their vet and vaccine records.

Support for Life

Message our Care360 Team at 10 weeks or 10 years. We stay in touch with our families for the life of the dog.

ABOUT THE BREED

Why Cavapoos Are Made for Washington

A Cavapoo is a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel crossed with a Poodle: the Cavalier's affectionate, lap-loving personality plus the Poodle's intelligence and low-shedding coat. They're sized for a Seattle condo, happy on a muddy trail, and small enough to ride along on the ferry to Bainbridge, where leashed dogs are welcome on the outside decks.

Apartment-Friendly Size

Most of our Cavapoos finish between 10 and 23 pounds. That's within the pet weight limits most Seattle and Eastside apartment buildings set, and small enough to ride Link light rail or a Metro bus in a carrier.

Low-Shedding Coat

Their wavy or curly coats shed very little. No dog is fully hypoallergenic, but many people with mild allergies live comfortably with a Cavapoo.

Gentle With Kids

Cavapoos are patient and gentle, which is why so many families with young children choose them. Supervised play is still a must.

Quick to Train

Poodle smarts plus a real wish to please. Short, consistent sessions go a long way with potty training and basic manners.

Moderate Energy

Cavapoos are moderate-energy dogs. A couple of walks and some fetch keep them happy, and they'll gladly join you at Marymoor's off-leash park, on the Burke-Gilman Trail, or on a Discovery Park loop. West of the Cascades, a lightweight rain jacket and a towel by the door are the only gear you'll really need.

Made for Company

Cavapoos want to be wherever you are. They're a great fit for work-from-home schedules. If you're gone 10 hours a day, plan on a dog walker.

GETTING YOUR PUPPY HOME

Three Ways to Get Your Cavapoo Home

Most Washington families choose free ground delivery, which brings your puppy to your door in a climate-controlled vehicle. If you'd rather not wait for the cross-country drive, a flight nanny can fly your puppy in the cabin to one of six airports serving Washington. Our team coordinates the date with you either way and keeps you posted until your puppy arrives.

Most Popular

Ground Transport

Ground delivery to Washington is one of our longer routes, so our drivers plan it around the puppy: climate-controlled vehicles, frequent water and potty stops, and overnight rest when the route calls for it. Cavapoos are relaxed travelers, and most arrive sleepy, curious, and ready to explore.

Pick Up at the Breeder

Prefer to meet your puppy in person first? When the breeder's location and schedule allow, HonestPet can arrange a visit ahead of delivery to Washington.

Flight Nanny

A flat $799 to any airport we serve in Washington. Your puppy flies in the cabin with the nanny, never in cargo, and the nanny walks out to arrivals and hands your puppy to you.

HEALTH FIRST

Cavapoo Parent Health Screening

Cavaliers and Poodles each have known inherited health risks, which is why we’re working toward having all of our breeders complete genetic screening for the conditions most relevant to the Cavapoo breed. Testing varies by parent; ask to review available results for the parents of any puppy you’re considering.

Parents

Curly Coat / Dry Eye Syndrome

A Cavalier condition that shows up in a puppy's first weeks. Affected puppies can't make normal tears and develop a rough coat, flaky skin, and cracked, sore paw pads. It's only a risk when both parents have Cavalier ancestry, as in F2 and multigeneration Cavapoos.

Parents

Degenerative Myelopathy

A slow spinal cord disease that usually doesn't appear until later in life, often after age 8. It starts with wobbly, dragging back legs and gradually leads to hind-end weakness. It isn't painful, but there's no cure, so testing the parents is the best protection.

Parents

Episodic Falling Syndrome

Another Cavalier condition. When an affected dog gets excited, stressed, or exercises hard, its muscles stiffen and it may freeze mid-step or fall over. The dog stays fully awake through each episode. Signs usually start before the first birthday.

Parents

Neonatal Encephalopathy

A Poodle condition that affects newborns. Affected puppies are born small and weak, have trouble with balance, and often develop seizures. Because they rarely survive their first few weeks, this test is about pairing parents so no puppy is born with it.

Parents

Progressive Retinal Atrophy

One of the more common inherited conditions in Toy and Miniature Poodles. The retina slowly breaks down, starting with night blindness in adulthood and often leading to full blindness. It isn't painful and most dogs adjust well, but the vision loss can't be reversed.

Parents

von Willebrand Disease

A bleeding disorder where blood doesn't clot as well as it should. Many dogs with it live normal lives, but they can bleed longer after surgery, an injury, or losing baby teeth. Knowing the parents' results helps your vet plan ahead for spay or neuter.

Puppies

Vet Exam

Before leaving for Washington, every puppy gets a nose-to-tail exam from a licensed vet: heart and lungs, eyes, ears, teeth, skin, and a hernia check. The vet issues the certificate of veterinary inspection required for interstate travel, and a copy of the exam goes into the puppy's digital records for your Washington vet.

Puppies

Shots, Deworming, Microchip

Each puppy is current on core vaccines for their age and has been dewormed on a regular schedule since their first weeks. Your vet will finish the series, including the rabies vaccine Washington requires for all dogs, usually given at 3 to 4 months, and the leptospirosis vaccine many Puget Sound vets recommend given how wet it is. Every puppy is microchipped, and we'll help you register the chip in your name.

QUESTIONS ANSWERED

Cavapoo Puppy FAQs

Our Cavapoo puppies are $2,500 to $6,000, depending on size, coat, and color. The price of each puppy includes vaccinations, deworming, a microchip, a vet exam, lifetime training and support, a digital copy of their records, and free ground delivery to your home.

Yes. Most families choose free ground delivery straight to their door. Flight nanny delivery is also available to the major airports serving Washington, including Seattle-Tacoma, Paine Field in Everett, Spokane, the Tri-Cities, Bellingham, and Portland for Vancouver-area families, depending on route and availability.

While no dog is 100% hypoallergenic, Cavapoos are known for their low-shedding coats and can be a good choice for some families with mild dog allergies. How much a Cavapoo sheds can vary based on their individual coat genetics and generation, with some puppies inheriting more of the Poodle’s low-shedding coat characteristics. If allergies or shedding are a concern, review each puppy’s generation and coat type, and talk with our team about which available Cavapoo may be the best fit for your family.

Most Cavapoos weigh 10 to 23 pounds and stand 9 to 14 inches tall as adults. Size depends mostly on the Poodle parent. We list an estimated adult weight for every puppy we have available.

Your puppy comes home with a starter bag of food, a blanket that smells like their littermates, a toy, microchip details, and a digital copy of their vet and vaccine records.

Pick an available puppy then send us an inquiry. After we talk, a $349 deposit holds your puppy. The balance is due before go-home day.

We’re working toward having every parent DNA tested and screened for relevant heart, knee, and eye conditions before breeding. Every puppy also receives a veterinary exam, age-appropriate vaccinations, deworming, and a microchip before going home. Available parent health and genetic testing results can be viewed on our Parents page.

Each breeder may have a different preferred puppy food, so we provide the specific brand and formula your puppy is currently eating to help make the transition to your home as smooth as possible. If you decide to switch foods, we recommend transitioning gradually to help avoid digestive upset.

Our puppies go home at 8 weeks old.

WASHINGTON QUESTIONS

Getting a Cavapoo in Washington: Your Questions Answered

What Washington families ask us most, from the state pet store law to Seattle licensing and airport pickups.

Almost certainly not. Since 2021, Washington has barred any pet store that wasn't already selling dogs from starting, and the few grandfathered stores face strict sourcing limits, so breeder puppies have largely disappeared from store windows. HonestPet is not a pet store. We connect Washington families directly with vetted home breeders, share each puppy's parent health testing, and coordinate delivery to your door.

For most people, yes. Cavapoos are small, fairly quiet, and don't need a yard, which suits a Capitol Hill apartment or a South Lake Union high-rise. Check your building's pet policy for weight limits and pet rent, and plan on a few walks a day, rain or shine. Seattle famously has more dogs than kids, so you'll have plenty of company at the off-leash parks.

Washington leaves licensing to cities and counties, and most require it. Seattle licenses through the Seattle Animal Shelter, unincorporated King County and many Eastside cities through Regional Animal Services of King County, and Spokane through SCRAPS. You'll need a current rabies certificate, which state law requires for all dogs, and fees are lower for spayed and neutered pets.

Once your puppy is reserved, HonestPet plans the route from the breeder's home to yours. Your puppy gets a final vet exam and a travel health certificate, then makes the trip west either by climate-controlled ground delivery to your door or in the cabin with a flight nanny to Sea-Tac or the airport nearest you. We confirm the schedule with you and send updates along the way.

Flights to Washington usually run 4 to 5 hours, depending on where the breeder is located and which airport you choose, and the nanny books nonstop routes whenever possible. Your puppy stays with the flight nanny the whole way and rides in the cabin, never in cargo.

Sometimes. When the breeder's location and schedule allow, HonestPet can arrange an in-person visit before delivery. Because our breeders are located in different areas and we protect their privacy, visits are set up individually rather than offered as public appointments.
