THE HONESTPET DIFFERENCE

Why Pennsylvania Families Choose HonestPet

Buying a puppy online takes trust. Here's what you can count on when you work with us.

Raised in Breeders' Homes

Our breeders raise their litters in their homes, not in kennel barns. Puppies that have grown up with footsteps on the stairs, the dishwasher running, and kids coming home from school settle in quickly, whether that's a Pittsburgh rowhouse, a Main Line colonial, or a split-level in the Lehigh Valley.

Handled From Day Three

Our breeders begin Early Neurological Stimulation when puppies are three days old and follow Puppy Culture practices until they’re ready to join their new families. Short, gentle daily handling helps puppies become more comfortable with new experiences as they grow.

Health-Tested Parents

Most of our puppies’ parents are DNA tested. Each puppy’s listing identifies the DNA testing status of both mom and dad, so you can review this information before choosing your puppy.

Honest Puppy Matching

We'll tell you which puppy fits your household, even if it isn't the one you picked out first. A calm pup for a Center City condo, a livelier one for a family in Lancaster County with room to run.

A Guarantee in Writing

Every puppy comes with a 10-year genetic health guarantee and a digital copy of their vet and vaccine records.

Support for Life

Message our Care360 Team at 10 weeks or 10 years. We stay in touch with our families for the life of the dog.

ABOUT THE BREED

Why Cavapoos Suit Pennsylvania Homes

A Cavapoo is a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel crossed with a Poodle: the Cavalier's affectionate, cuddle-on-the-couch nature and the Poodle's sharp mind and low-shedding coat. They're small enough for a city rowhome, hardy enough for a Pennsylvania winter with a sweater, and happiest wherever their people are.

Apartment-Friendly Size

Most of our Cavapoos land between 10 and 23 pounds. That's an easy size for narrow rowhome stairs, fits within the pet limits many Philadelphia and Pittsburgh apartment buildings set, and is light enough to carry over a slushy curb in February.

Low-Shedding Coat

Their wavy or curly coats shed very little. No dog is fully hypoallergenic, but many people with mild allergies live comfortably with a Cavapoo.

Gentle With Kids

Cavapoos are patient and gentle, which is why so many families with young children choose them. Supervised play is still a must.

Quick to Train

Poodle smarts plus a real wish to please. Short, consistent sessions go a long way with potty training and basic manners.

Moderate Energy

Cavapoos don't need a lot of exercise. A couple of neighborhood walks and some play indoors cover it, and on nice weekends they'll happily tag along on the Schuylkill River Trail, a Presque Isle stroll, or a hike in the Poconos. In winter, a paw balm helps with sidewalk salt.

Made for Company

Cavapoos want to be wherever you are. They're a great fit for work-from-home schedules. If you're gone 10 hours a day, plan on a dog walker.

GETTING YOUR PUPPY HOME

Three Ways to Get Your Cavapoo Home

Most Pennsylvania families use our free ground delivery, which brings your puppy to your door. If you'd prefer to fly, a flight nanny can carry your puppy in the cabin to one of seven Pennsylvania airports. Our team confirms the date with you and sends updates until your puppy arrives.

Most Popular

Ground Transport

Ground delivery is our go-to for Pennsylvania. The drive is a manageable one, and puppies ride in a climate-controlled vehicle with water and potty stops along the way. Cavapoos are easy travelers, and most doze through the turnpike and wake up ready to meet you.

Pick Up at the Breeder

Rather meet first? When the breeder's location and schedule line up, HonestPet can arrange an in-person visit so you can meet your puppy before delivery to Pennsylvania.

Flight Nanny

A flat $799 to any Pennsylvania airport we serve. Your puppy flies in the cabin with the nanny, never in cargo, and the nanny hands them to you at arrivals.

HEALTH FIRST

Cavapoo Parent Health Screening

Cavaliers and Poodles each have known inherited health risks, which is why we’re working toward having all of our breeders complete genetic screening for the conditions most relevant to the Cavapoo breed. Testing varies by parent; ask to review available results for the parents of any puppy you’re considering.

Parents

Curly Coat / Dry Eye Syndrome

A Cavalier condition that shows up in a puppy's first weeks. Affected puppies can't make normal tears and develop a rough coat, flaky skin, and cracked, sore paw pads. It's only a risk when both parents have Cavalier ancestry, as in F2 and multigeneration Cavapoos.

Parents

Degenerative Myelopathy

A slow spinal cord disease that usually doesn't appear until later in life, often after age 8. It starts with wobbly, dragging back legs and gradually leads to hind-end weakness. It isn't painful, but there's no cure, so testing the parents is the best protection.

Parents

Episodic Falling Syndrome

Another Cavalier condition. When an affected dog gets excited, stressed, or exercises hard, its muscles stiffen and it may freeze mid-step or fall over. The dog stays fully awake through each episode. Signs usually start before the first birthday.

Parents

Neonatal Encephalopathy

A Poodle condition that affects newborns. Affected puppies are born small and weak, have trouble with balance, and often develop seizures. Because they rarely survive their first few weeks, this test is about pairing parents so no puppy is born with it.

Parents

Progressive Retinal Atrophy

One of the more common inherited conditions in Toy and Miniature Poodles. The retina slowly breaks down, starting with night blindness in adulthood and often leading to full blindness. It isn't painful and most dogs adjust well, but the vision loss can't be reversed.

Parents

von Willebrand Disease

A bleeding disorder where blood doesn't clot as well as it should. Many dogs with it live normal lives, but they can bleed longer after surgery, an injury, or losing baby teeth. Knowing the parents' results helps your vet plan ahead for spay or neuter.

Puppies

Vet Exam

Before any puppy leaves for Pennsylvania, a licensed vet performs a full exam: heart and lungs, eyes, ears, teeth, skin, and a check for hernias. The vet issues a health certificate for travel, and a copy of the exam goes into the puppy's digital records, which also helps document your rights under Pennsylvania's Dog Purchaser Protection Act.

Puppies

Shots, Deworming, Microchip

Each puppy is current on core vaccines for their age and has been dewormed on a regular schedule since their first weeks. Your vet will finish the series, including the rabies vaccine Pennsylvania requires by 3 months of age. Pennsylvania's tick season runs from spring well into fall, so ask your vet about tick prevention early. Every puppy is microchipped, and we'll help you register the chip in your name.

QUESTIONS ANSWERED

Cavapoo Puppy FAQs

Our Cavapoo puppies are $2,500 to $6,000, depending on size, coat, and color. The price of each puppy includes vaccinations, deworming, a microchip, a vet exam, lifetime training and support, a digital copy of their records, and free ground delivery to your home.

Yes. Most families choose free ground delivery to their door. Flight nanny delivery is also available to major Pennsylvania airports including Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Lehigh Valley, Harrisburg, Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, State College, and Erie, depending on route and availability.

While no dog is 100% hypoallergenic, Cavapoos are known for their low-shedding coats and can be a good choice for some families with mild dog allergies. How much a Cavapoo sheds can vary based on their individual coat genetics and generation, with some puppies inheriting more of the Poodle’s low-shedding coat characteristics. If allergies or shedding are a concern, review each puppy’s generation and coat type, and talk with our team about which available Cavapoo may be the best fit for your family.

Most Cavapoos weigh 10 to 23 pounds and stand 9 to 14 inches tall as adults. Size depends mostly on the Poodle parent. We list an estimated adult weight for every puppy we have available.

Your puppy comes home with a starter bag of food, a blanket that smells like their littermates, a toy, microchip details, and a digital copy of their vet and vaccine records.

Pick an available puppy then send us an inquiry. After we talk, a $349 deposit holds your puppy. The balance is due before go-home day.

We’re working toward having every parent DNA tested and screened for relevant heart, knee, and eye conditions before breeding. Every puppy also receives a veterinary exam, age-appropriate vaccinations, deworming, and a microchip before going home. Available parent health and genetic testing results can be viewed on our Parents page.

Each breeder may have a different preferred puppy food, so we provide the specific brand and formula your puppy is currently eating to help make the transition to your home as smooth as possible. If you decide to switch foods, we recommend transitioning gradually to help avoid digestive upset.

Our puppies go home at 8 weeks old.

PENNSYLVANIA QUESTIONS

Getting a Cavapoo in Pennsylvania: Your Questions Answered

What Pennsylvania families ask us most, from the state dog license to the puppy lemon law and airport pickups.

It depends where you live. Pennsylvania has no statewide ban, but Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, and Allentown each prohibit pet stores from selling commercially bred dogs, and a statewide bill has been reintroduced several times. HonestPet is not a pet store. We connect Pennsylvania families with vetted breeders who raise puppies in their homes, share each puppy's parent health testing, and deliver to your door.

For most families, yes. Cavapoos are small, fairly quiet, and don't need a yard, so they do well in a South Philly rowhome or a Lawrenceville apartment. Check your lease or condo rules for weight limits and pet fees, and plan on a few walks a day. In winter, a sweater and a quick paw wipe after salty sidewalks are all the extra care they need.

Yes. Pennsylvania requires an annual license for every dog 3 months and older, purchased through your county treasurer or, in Philadelphia, through the city. The license is cheap, and the fine for skipping it is not. You'll also need to keep your dog's rabies vaccine current, which state law requires beginning at 3 months.

Once you reserve your puppy, HonestPet schedules the trip from the breeder's home to yours. Your puppy has a final vet exam and gets a travel health certificate, then rides to Pennsylvania in a climate-controlled delivery vehicle or in the cabin with a flight nanny to your nearest airport. We confirm the timing with you and keep you updated.

Most flights into Pennsylvania are short, typically 1 to 2 hours, depending on the breeder's location and which airport you choose. Your puppy stays with the flight nanny the entire time and rides in the cabin rather than as cargo.

In some cases, yes. When the breeder's location and schedule allow, HonestPet can arrange an in-person visit so you can meet your puppy before delivery. Because our breeders are located in different areas and we protect their privacy, visits are set up one family at a time rather than offered as open appointments.
