THE HONESTPET DIFFERENCE
Why South Carolina Families Choose HonestPet for a Frenchie
Buying a puppy online takes trust. Here's what you can count on when you work with us.
Raised in Breeders' Homes
Our breeders raise their French Bulldogs in the house, where the litter learns a screen door, a blender, and a six-year-old before anything else. A Frenchie that grew up in a family kitchen instead of a kennel building settles into a Charleston single house, a Mount Pleasant townhouse, or a Greenville bungalow the first evening, not the third week.
Handled From Day Three
Our breeders begin Early Neurological Stimulation when puppies are three days old and follow Puppy Culture practices until they’re ready to join their new families. Short, gentle daily handling helps puppies become more comfortable with new experiences as they grow.
Parent Health Records
Each puppy’s listing identifies the DNA testing status of both mom and dad. Ask to review available parent health records, including any breathing, spine, hip, and knee assessments; screening coverage varies by parent.
Honest Puppy Matching
We'll point you to the puppy that breathes easiest, which in Lowcountry humidity is the most important thing we can tell you about a French Bulldog, and to the temperament that fits your home. The calmest pup for a retired couple in Bluffton, the sturdier one for a Fort Mill family with a fenced yard and kids who'll have it at every ballgame, in the shade.
A Guarantee in Writing
Every puppy comes with a 10-year genetic health guarantee and a digital copy of their vet and vaccine records.
Support for Life

STATEWIDE DELIVERY
French Bulldog Puppies Delivered Anywhere in South Carolina
A HonestPet French Bulldog comes from a breeder we've vetted who raises the litter at home, never from a store or a broker. South Carolina families choose free ground delivery to the door or a flight nanny who carries the puppy in the cabin into Charleston, GSP, or a regional airport. Flat-faced breeds don't fly cargo, so cabin is the only way we fly them, and from May through September every Lowcountry and Midlands handoff is set for early morning.

Why French Bulldogs Fit South Carolina, With the AC Running
A French Bulldog is a compact 20 to 28 pounds of bat ears, folds, and comic timing, and it wants a short walk, a long nap, and a porch to supervise from, which makes it a natural for Charleston. The Lowcountry's summer is the hard part. A flat face can't move enough air to cool a dog when the humidity sits on the marsh at 90 percent, and Columbia, which locals call Famously Hot, is no easier. From May through September a South Carolina Frenchie lives in air conditioning and walks in the dark; the Upstate gets a little more slack.
Apartment-Friendly Size
Our French Bulldogs land between 20 and 28 pounds. That's under the pet cap in most Charleston and Greenville apartment buildings, fits the carrier for the ferry to Daufuskie, and is light enough to carry across hot sand at Sullivan's Island or Folly, which from June on is how this breed crosses a beach.
Short, Smooth Coat
French Bulldogs have short, smooth coats and do shed. Regular brushing helps manage loose hair, and their skin folds need gentle cleaning and drying. They are not a hypoallergenic breed.
Playful Family Companions
Frenchies are playful and affectionate. Supervise interactions with children, teach gentle handling, and give your puppy a quiet place to rest. Keep play short and cool rather than encouraging rough play or long chases.
Patient, Positive Training
A Frenchie can be clever and independent. Use short sessions, rewards, and consistent potty routines to build good habits. Our lifetime training support helps you work through puppy manners without harsh methods.
Short Walks, Cool Play
Two short walks and some play on the rug are all the exercise a Frenchie needs. In a South Carolina summer, walk before seven and after dark, keep it to ten or fifteen minutes, and come inside at the first heavy pant; the Swamp Rabbit Trail in Greenville is a fine fall walk, the Battery at noon in July is not. At the beach, on the marsh, or on Lake Murray and Keowee, a life vest goes on before the puppy is near the water, because French Bulldogs cannot swim and pluff mud will hold one fast.
Made for Company
French Bulldogs enjoy being near their people. Build up time alone gradually, and arrange company and potty breaks when you will be away for long stretches. An air-conditioned home and a predictable routine help them stay comfortable.

GETTING YOUR PUPPY HOME
Three Ways to Get Your French Bulldog Home
Most South Carolina families take free ground delivery straight to the door, which for a flat-faced puppy is the gentlest route. If you'd rather fly, a flight nanny carries your Frenchie in the cabin to one of five South Carolina airports; airlines won't take a French Bulldog in cargo, and neither would we. Either way, we pick the date together, schedule a summer handoff for early morning, and send updates until the puppy is on your porch.
Most Popular
Ground Transport
Ground delivery is our first choice for a Frenchie, and the South Carolina route is planned around the humidity: cooled vehicle the whole way, a shaded and ventilated crate, brief stops, and a handoff before the heat index climbs. Most puppies sleep from the breeder's driveway to yours and never see an airport.
Pick Up at the Breeder
Want to meet your puppy first? When the breeder's location and schedule line up, HonestPet can help arrange an in-person visit before your Frenchie heads to South Carolina.
Flight Nanny
A flat $799 into any South Carolina airport on our list. Your Frenchie rides in a ventilated soft carrier at the nanny's feet in the cabin, the only way this breed should ever fly, and Charleston and GSP both take nonstops from most breeder regions, which keeps a brachycephalic puppy's time in the air short. The nanny meets you at arrivals and puts the puppy in your hands.

HEALTH FIRST
French Bulldog Health and Parent Screening
French Bulldogs need particular attention to breathing, heat tolerance, and spine and joint health. Parent screening and available records vary by dog; ask to review the findings for the parents of the puppy you are considering. A DNA test or veterinary exam is not a guarantee against future breathing or mobility problems, and your vet can help plan ongoing care.
Parents & puppies
Airway and Breathing
Flat-faced dogs can have narrowed nostrils and other airway problems. Ask what breathing assessments are available for the parents, and discuss your puppy's breathing with your vet. Snoring and poor exercise tolerance deserve attention rather than being dismissed as normal.
Parents & puppies
Spine and Back Health
Ask about the parents' spine-health history and any available veterinary findings. French Bulldogs can develop spinal problems; keeping them lean and using ramps instead of repeated jumps can help with daily care, but does not eliminate the risk.
Parents & puppies
Hips and Knees
Review any available hip and knee assessments for the parents with our team. Your vet can check your puppy's gait and joints and advise on suitable exercise. Do not assume every parent has had the same examinations.
Parents & puppies
Eye Health
Ask which parent eye examinations or genetic results are available. Frenchies' prominent eyes need care; contact your vet about redness, squinting, or discharge, and protect the eyes during play.
Puppies
Skin Folds and Care
Discuss skin-fold cleaning and any signs of irritation with your vet. Keep folds clean and dry, watch for itching or redness, and ask for guidance before using skin products. Short coats still need regular brushing.
Parents
Parent Health Records
Each puppy’s listing identifies the DNA testing status of both mom and dad. Ask to review available parent health and genetic records before reserving. Genetic results do not replace a clinical assessment of breathing, spine, or joint health.
Puppies
Vet Exam
Every Frenchie bound for South Carolina gets a full exam from a licensed vet before departure, with the breed's weak points front and center: nostril openings, breathing at rest and after play, spine alignment, hips and knees, and the skin folds. The vet issues the certificate of veterinary inspection South Carolina requires for dogs entering the state, and the exam notes go into the puppy's digital records for your Charleston, Greenville, or Columbia vet.
Puppies
Shots, Deworming, Microchip
Age-appropriate core vaccines are done and documented, and the puppy has been dewormed on a schedule since the first weeks. Your South Carolina vet finishes the series, including the rabies shot state law requires and whose tag doubles as your dog's registration in most counties, and should start heartworm and flea prevention immediately, since the Lowcountry's mosquito season barely pauses. Ask about fold care in humid weather, because a Frenchie's face and tail pocket stay damp here and yeast follows, and about keeping the puppy lean, since weight is a breathing issue in this breed. Microchipping is done before the trip, and we register the chip in your name at pickup.

Yes. Most South Carolina families take free ground delivery to the door, which keeps a Frenchie in a cooled vehicle the whole way. In-cabin flight nanny delivery is also available into Charleston, Greenville-Spartanburg, Columbia, Myrtle Beach, and Hilton Head, depending on route and availability, with the puppy at the nanny's feet in the cabin. A French Bulldog never flies as cargo.
Yes. French Bulldogs have short, smooth coats that shed, and they are not hypoallergenic. Regular brushing helps manage loose hair. If allergies are a concern, discuss the individual puppy with our team before deciding.
Our French Bulldogs typically finish between 20 and 28 pounds. Review the individual puppy’s estimated adult size and parent information with our team, and check your building's pet policy before reserving.

Parent testing varies by breeder and by dog. Review the available DNA testing status and health records for the puppy’s mom and dad with our team, including any breathing, spine, hip, and knee assessments. Every puppy receives a veterinary exam, age-appropriate vaccinations, deworming, and a microchip before going home. Your vet can help plan ongoing French Bulldog care; screening does not guarantee freedom from future health problems.
Each breeder may have a different preferred puppy food, so we provide the specific brand and formula your puppy is currently eating to help make the transition to your home as smooth as possible. If you decide to switch foods, we recommend transitioning gradually to help avoid digestive upset.

What ground delivery looks like
We set the date together.Once the vet clears your puppy to travel, we schedule a delivery day and give you an arrival window.
Your puppy rides with a trained handler. They travel in their own crate in a climate-controlled vehicle, with regular stops for water, food, and potty breaks.
We keep you posted. Our delivery team sends updates along the way and lets you know when your puppy is getting close.
We bring your puppy to your door. The handler walks your Frenchie and its starter bag to the door and goes over the heat and humidity basics before leaving. In a downtown Charleston or Greenville building they'll coordinate with the front desk ahead of time, and from May through September the handoff is scheduled for early morning, because a French Bulldog shouldn't wait in Lowcountry humidity.
Help them settle in.Have a crate, a few puppy pads, water, and their food ready so your puppy can rest after the trip.

SOUTH CAROLINA QUESTIONS
Getting a French Bulldog in South Carolina: Your Questions Answered
Lowcountry humidity, beach days, rabies tags, pet store rules, and how delivery works: what South Carolina Frenchie families ask us most.
South Carolina has no statewide ban, so a few stores still sell French Bulldogs, shipped in from large out-of-state kennels where nobody evaluated the parents' breathing, and priced high because Frenchies are the most profitable puppy those kennels produce. A store can't show you the mother or the home. HonestPet is not a pet store. We connect South Carolina families directly with vetted breeders who raise Frenchies at home, share the parents' screening, and deliver to your door.
Yes, and downtown Charleston is full of them. A Frenchie rarely barks, needs very little exercise, and is content in a peninsula carriage house or a Greenville loft as long as the AC runs. The condition is the summer: a flat-faced dog can't handle a Lowcountry afternoon from May to September, so walks happen early and short, and a parked car is off-limits. Greenville's Upstate summers are a notch easier. Check your building's weight cap, which a Frenchie clears nearly everywhere.
It depends where you live. South Carolina has no statewide license; in most counties the rabies tag your vet issues is your Frenchie's registration, and a handful of counties and cities add a separate annual license on top. Statewide, every dog must have the rabies vaccine, so that certificate is the one document to keep handy.
Once you've reserved, HonestPet arranges the trip from the breeder's home to your South Carolina address. The puppy gets a final vet exam with breathing evaluated at rest and after activity, then travels in a climate-controlled delivery vehicle or in the cabin with a flight nanny, cargo never being an option. You'll have the schedule before departure, a summer handoff kept out of the heat, and a message at every handoff.
Usually 1 to 2 hours, and Charleston and GSP both take nonstops, which is the best case for a brachycephalic puppy. Your Frenchie stays in a ventilated carrier at the nanny's feet in the cabin the whole flight. The hold is never an option for a French Bulldog.
In some cases. When the breeder's location and schedule cooperate, HonestPet can set up a visit so you can meet the puppy, see the parents, and listen to how they breathe after a few minutes of play. Because we protect each breeder's privacy and they live in different places, a visit is arranged individually rather than offered as a walk-in.
