A Cavapoo is a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel crossed with a Poodle, which gives you the Cavalier's sweet, people-loving nature and the Poodle's intelligence and low-shedding coat. They're sized for an Oklahoma City apartment or an Edmond subdivision, they ride well in the truck, and they take Oklahoma's hot summers, ice storms, and everything in between as long as they're inside with you.
Most of our Cavapoos finish between 10 and 23 pounds. That's within the pet weight limits most Oklahoma apartment communities and HOAs set, and small enough to scoop up and carry to the storm shelter when the sirens go off.
Their wavy or curly coats shed very little. No dog is fully hypoallergenic, but many people with mild allergies live comfortably with a Cavapoo.
Cavapoos are patient and gentle, which is why so many families with young children choose them. Supervised play is still a must.
Poodle smarts plus a real wish to please. Short, consistent sessions go a long way with potty training and basic manners.
Cavapoos do fine with moderate exercise. In July and August, walk early and late; the rest of the year they'll happily join you on the Lake Hefner trail, at Turkey Mountain, or on a Saturday at the farmers market. Ticks are active most of the year in Oklahoma, so check them after any time in tall grass.
Cavapoos want to be wherever you are. They're a great fit for work-from-home schedules. If you're gone 10 hours a day, plan on a dog walker.

GETTING YOUR PUPPY HOME
Most Oklahoma families choose free ground delivery, which brings your puppy to your door in a climate-controlled vehicle. If you'd rather fly, a flight nanny can carry your puppy in the cabin to one of three Oklahoma airports. Our team confirms the date with you either way and keeps you updated until your puppy arrives.
Ground delivery is our preferred way to bring a Cavapoo to Oklahoma. Puppies ride in a climate-controlled vehicle with regular water and potty stops along I-44 or I-40, and our drivers keep an eye on the forecast during storm season. Cavapoos travel easily, and most arrive relaxed and ready to meet their family.

HEALTH FIRST
Cavaliers and Poodles each have known inherited health risks, which is why we’re working toward having all of our breeders complete genetic screening for the conditions most relevant to the Cavapoo breed. Testing varies by parent; ask to review available results for the parents of any puppy you’re considering.
A Cavalier condition that shows up in a puppy's first weeks. Affected puppies can't make normal tears and develop a rough coat, flaky skin, and cracked, sore paw pads. It's only a risk when both parents have Cavalier ancestry, as in F2 and multigeneration Cavapoos.
A slow spinal cord disease that usually doesn't appear until later in life, often after age 8. It starts with wobbly, dragging back legs and gradually leads to hind-end weakness. It isn't painful, but there's no cure, so testing the parents is the best protection.
Another Cavalier condition. When an affected dog gets excited, stressed, or exercises hard, its muscles stiffen and it may freeze mid-step or fall over. The dog stays fully awake through each episode. Signs usually start before the first birthday.
A Poodle condition that affects newborns. Affected puppies are born small and weak, have trouble with balance, and often develop seizures. Because they rarely survive their first few weeks, this test is about pairing parents so no puppy is born with it.
One of the more common inherited conditions in Toy and Miniature Poodles. The retina slowly breaks down, starting with night blindness in adulthood and often leading to full blindness. It isn't painful and most dogs adjust well, but the vision loss can't be reversed.
A bleeding disorder where blood doesn't clot as well as it should. Many dogs with it live normal lives, but they can bleed longer after surgery, an injury, or losing baby teeth. Knowing the parents' results helps your vet plan ahead for spay or neuter.
Before any puppy leaves for Oklahoma, a licensed vet performs a full nose-to-tail exam: heart and lungs, eyes, ears, teeth, skin, and a check for hernias. The vet issues a health certificate for interstate travel, and a copy of the exam goes into the puppy's digital records for your Oklahoma vet.
Each puppy is current on core vaccines for their age and has been dewormed on a regular schedule since their first weeks. Your vet will finish the series, including the rabies shot Oklahoma requires by 4 months of age, which Oklahoma City and Tulsa will ask for at licensing. We’re working toward having every parent DNA tested and screened for relevant heart, knee, and eye conditions before breeding. Every puppy also receives a veterinary exam, age-appropriate vaccinations, deworming, and a microchip before going home. Each breeder may have a different preferred puppy food, so we provide the specific brand and formula your puppy is currently eating to help make the transition to your home as smooth as possible. If you decide to switch foods, we recommend transitioning gradually to help avoid digestive upset.

Oklahoma has no statewide ban on pet store puppy sales, so you'll still see puppies in some store windows, many of them from large commercial kennels in Oklahoma and neighboring states. What a store can't show you is the parents, the home the puppy was raised in, or the breeder's health testing. HonestPet is not a pet store. For most people, yes. Cavapoos are small, fairly quiet, and don't need a yard, which suits a Midtown OKC apartment or a Brookside flat in Tulsa. Check your lease for weight limits and pet fees, and plan on a few walks a day, timed around the heat in summer. They're just as happy in an Edmond house with a fenced yard.
It depends on the city. Oklahoma doesn't issue a statewide dog license, but Oklahoma City, Tulsa, Norman, Edmond, and many other cities require an annual license tied to a current rabies certificate. Statewide, every dog must be vaccinated against rabies by 4 months of age. Check your city's animal welfare page for fees, which are lower for spayed and neutered dogs.
