THE HONESTPET DIFFERENCE
Why New Jersey Families Go With HonestPet for a Frenchie
Buying a puppy online takes trust. Here's what you can count on when you work with us.
Raised in Breeders' Homes
Our breeders raise French Bulldogs in the family room, not a kennel building, which means the puppies arrive in New Jersey already used to footsteps overhead, a door buzzer, and a kid dropping a cereal bowl. That's the difference between a Frenchie that settles into a Jersey City high-rise the first night and one that needs three weeks to stop shaking.
Handled From Day Three
Our breeders begin Early Neurological Stimulation when puppies are three days old and follow Puppy Culture practices until they’re ready to join their new families. Short, gentle daily handling helps puppies become more comfortable with new experiences as they grow.
Parent Health Records
Each puppy’s listing identifies the DNA testing status of both mom and dad. Ask to review available parent health records, including any breathing, spine, hip, and knee assessments; screening coverage varies by parent.
Honest Puppy Matching
We'll steer you to the puppy that fits, not the one with the best Instagram face. For a couple in a Hoboken walk-up, that's the pup that breathes quietest and climbs stairs without effort; for a family in Montclair or Westfield with a yard and kids, it's the sturdier one that wants to be in the middle of everything.
A Guarantee in Writing
Every puppy comes with a 10-year genetic health guarantee and a digital copy of their vet and vaccine records.
Support for Life
Message our Care360 Team at 10 weeks or 10 years. We stay in touch with our families for the life of the dog.
STATEWIDE DELIVERY
French Bulldog Puppies Delivered Anywhere in New Jersey
HonestPet Frenchies are home-raised by breeders we've vetted; pet stores and brokers never touch them. For a state this compact, nearly every family takes free ground delivery to the door, though a flight nanny can bring the puppy in the cabin into Newark, Trenton, Atlantic City, or Philadelphia. Cargo isn't allowed for flat-faced breeds, so in-cabin is the only flight we book, and summer handoffs on the Shore and in the cities are timed for the cool hours.

Why French Bulldogs Are Made for New Jersey Living
A French Bulldog is a compact 20 to 28 pounds of bat ears, folds, and comic timing, and it was practically designed for the most densely populated state in the country: it rarely barks, it doesn't need a yard, and it's content with a short walk and a long nap. The one thing New Jersey throws at the breed is a humid summer. A Frenchie's flat face can't shed heat on a 92-degree day in Hudson County or on hot boardwalk planks in Seaside, so from June through September the breed lives in air conditioning and walks early.
Apartment-Friendly Size
Our Frenchies grow to 20 to 28 pounds. That's under the pet cap in most Hoboken and Jersey City buildings, fits the carrier NJ Transit and PATH require for dogs, and is a manageable weight to carry across the hot sand at Point Pleasant or over the dunes on LBI, which in August you'll do rather than let those paws touch it.
Short, Smooth Coat
French Bulldogs have short, smooth coats and do shed. Regular brushing helps manage loose hair, and their skin folds need gentle cleaning and drying. They are not a hypoallergenic breed.
Playful Family Companions
Frenchies are playful and affectionate. Supervise interactions with children, teach gentle handling, and give your puppy a quiet place to rest. Keep play short and cool rather than encouraging rough play or long chases.
Patient, Positive Training
A Frenchie can be clever and independent. Use short sessions, rewards, and consistent potty routines to build good habits. Our lifetime training support helps you work through puppy manners without harsh methods.
Short Walks, Cool Play
Two brief walks and some indoor roughhousing are a full day's exercise for a Frenchie. In a Jersey summer, walk before eight and after sunset, keep it to fifteen minutes, and skip the boardwalk at midday, where the planks burn paws and the heat radiates. At the Shore, a Frenchie wears a life vest on the beach, on the boat, and on the dock, because French Bulldogs cannot swim and a wave at Belmar will take one off its feet.
Made for Company
French Bulldogs enjoy being near their people. Build up time alone gradually, and arrange company and potty breaks when you will be away for long stretches. An air-conditioned home and a predictable routine help them stay comfortable.

GETTING YOUR PUPPY HOME
Three Ways to Get Your French Bulldog Home
Almost every New Jersey family takes free ground delivery to the door, and for a Frenchie it's the right call: a cooled vehicle, a short drive, and no airport. If you'd still rather fly, a flight nanny carries the puppy in the cabin to one of four airports serving New Jersey; cargo is off the table for a flat-faced breed, by airline rule and by ours. Either way we set the date together and send updates until the puppy is inside.
Most Popular
Ground Transport
Ground delivery is our first choice for a French Bulldog, and New Jersey is the easiest state in the Northeast to drive to. Climate-controlled vehicle, ventilated crate, short stops, and a handoff timed around the heat in summer; most puppies nap the whole drive and wake up outside your door, not at a baggage claim.
Pick Up at the Breeder
Want to meet your puppy before reserving? If the breeder's location and schedule make it workable, HonestPet can set up an in-person visit before your Frenchie travels to New Jersey.
Flight Nanny
A flat $799 into any of the airports we serve for New Jersey. The nanny carries your Frenchie in a ventilated soft carrier at their feet in the cabin, the only way a French Bulldog flies, and hands the puppy to you at arrivals. Newark takes nonstops from most breeder regions, and for a brachycephalic puppy a nonstop is the whole point.

HEALTH FIRST
French Bulldog Health and Parent Screening
French Bulldogs need particular attention to breathing, heat tolerance, and spine and joint health. Parent screening and available records vary by dog; ask to review the findings for the parents of the puppy you are considering. A DNA test or veterinary exam is not a guarantee against future breathing or mobility problems, and your vet can help plan ongoing care.
Parents & puppies
Airway and Breathing
Flat-faced dogs can have narrowed nostrils and other airway problems. Ask what breathing assessments are available for the parents, and discuss your puppy's breathing with your vet. Snoring and poor exercise tolerance deserve attention rather than being dismissed as normal.
Parents & puppies
Spine and Back Health
Ask about the parents' spine-health history and any available veterinary findings. French Bulldogs can develop spinal problems; keeping them lean and using ramps instead of repeated jumps can help with daily care, but does not eliminate the risk.
Parents & puppies
Hips and Knees
Review any available hip and knee assessments for the parents with our team. Your vet can check your puppy's gait and joints and advise on suitable exercise. Do not assume every parent has had the same examinations.
Parents & puppies
Eye Health
Ask which parent eye examinations or genetic results are available. Frenchies' prominent eyes need care; contact your vet about redness, squinting, or discharge, and protect the eyes during play.
Puppies
Skin Folds and Care
Discuss skin-fold cleaning and any signs of irritation with your vet. Keep folds clean and dry, watch for itching or redness, and ask for guidance before using skin products. Short coats still need regular brushing.
Parents
Parent Health Records
Each puppy’s listing identifies the DNA testing status of both mom and dad. Ask to review available parent health and genetic records before reserving. Genetic results do not replace a clinical assessment of breathing, spine, or joint health.
Puppies
Vet Exam
Before departure for New Jersey, a licensed vet gives every Frenchie a full exam built around the breed's weak points: nostril openings, breathing at rest and after play, spine alignment, hips and knees, and the skin folds. The vet issues the certificate of veterinary inspection required for interstate travel, and the exam notes go into the puppy's digital records, which also matter under New Jersey's Pet Purchase Protection Act.
Puppies
Shots, Deworming, Microchip
Age-appropriate core vaccines are done and documented, and the puppy has been dewormed on a schedule since the first weeks. Your New Jersey vet finishes the series, including the rabies shot the state requires before a license at 7 months, and should start heartworm and tick prevention early, since the Shore and the Highlands both have serious tick seasons. Ask your vet about fold care in humid weather and about keeping the puppy lean, because weight is a breathing issue in this breed. Chipping happens before the puppy travels, and putting the registration in your name is something we do with you.
QUESTIONS ANSWERED
French Bulldog Puppy FAQs
Prices vary by puppy. See each available puppy’s listing for the current price, and ask our team to explain the total before reserving. Every puppy comes with a vet exam, age-appropriate vaccinations, deworming, a microchip, digital records, lifetime training and support, and free ground delivery to your home.
Yes. Nearly all New Jersey families use free ground delivery to the door, which for a Frenchie is a short, cooled drive. Flight nanny delivery is also available into Newark Liberty, Trenton-Mercer, Atlantic City, and Philadelphia for South Jersey, depending on route and availability, with the puppy in the cabin beside the nanny. A French Bulldog never flies in the hold.
Yes. French Bulldogs have short, smooth coats that shed, and they are not hypoallergenic. Regular brushing helps manage loose hair. If allergies are a concern, discuss the individual puppy with our team before deciding.
Our French Bulldogs typically finish between 20 and 28 pounds. Review the individual puppy’s estimated adult size and parent information with our team, and check your building's pet policy before reserving.
Your puppy comes home with a starter bag of food, a blanket that smells like their littermates, a toy, microchip details, and a digital copy of their vet and vaccine records.
Pick an available puppy then send us an inquiry. After we talk, review the current reservation amount for your puppy before placing your deposit. The deposit goes toward the total price, and the balance is due before go-home day.
Parent testing varies by breeder and by dog. Review the available DNA testing status and health records for the puppy’s mom and dad with our team, including any breathing, spine, hip, and knee assessments. Every puppy receives a veterinary exam, age-appropriate vaccinations, deworming, and a microchip before going home. Your vet can help plan ongoing French Bulldog care; screening does not guarantee freedom from future health problems.
Each breeder may have a different preferred puppy food, so we provide the specific brand and formula your puppy is currently eating to help make the transition to your home as smooth as possible. If you decide to switch foods, we recommend transitioning gradually to help avoid digestive upset.
Free ground delivery to the door is how nearly every New Jersey French Bulldog arrives, and for a state this size it's usually faster than flying. If you'd prefer the flight nanny, your Frenchie rides in the cabin into one of four airports serving New Jersey, carrier at the nanny's feet in cabin air the whole trip.

What ground delivery looks like
We set the date together.Once the vet clears your puppy to travel, we schedule a delivery day and give you an arrival window.
Your puppy rides with a trained handler. They travel in their own crate in a climate-controlled vehicle, with regular stops for water, food, and potty breaks.
We keep you posted. Our delivery team sends updates along the way and lets you know when your puppy is getting close.
We bring your puppy to your door. The handler brings your Frenchie and its starter bag to your door and covers the first-night basics for a flat-faced breed before leaving. In a Hoboken or Jersey City building they'll handle the doorman or buzzer in advance, and in summer the handoff is scheduled before the humidity sets in, since a French Bulldog shouldn't wait on a hot sidewalk.
Help them settle in.Have a crate, a few puppy pads, water, and their food ready so your puppy can rest after the trip.

NEW JERSEY QUESTIONS
Getting a French Bulldog in New Jersey: Your Questions Answered
Apartment living, Shore summers, town licenses, pet store rules, and how the trip works: the questions New Jersey Frenchie families ask us most.
In much of the state, no. New Jersey has no statewide ban yet, but more than 150 towns, including Jersey City, Hoboken, Montclair, and Princeton, bar pet stores from selling commercially bred dogs, and any store still selling must post the breeder's name and USDA record, which for a Frenchie usually traces to a large Midwestern kennel with no airway screening. HonestPet is not a pet store. We connect New Jersey families directly with vetted breeders who raise French Bulldogs at home, share the parents' screening, and deliver to your door.
About as good as it gets. A Frenchie rarely barks, needs very little exercise, and is content in a one-bedroom on Washington Street as long as the AC runs in summer. Check your building's weight limit, which most Gold Coast towers set at 25 to 40 pounds, and plan on a dog walker if you're commuting into the city all day. One caution for walk-ups: a French Bulldog's spine doesn't love stairs, so carry the puppy up and down until it's grown, and after that, keep it lean.
Yes. Every New Jersey dog 7 months and older needs an annual license from the municipal clerk, who will ask for a rabies certificate valid through most of the license year. Many towns hold free rabies clinics each winter to make renewals easy, and the fee is lower for spayed and neutered dogs.
After you reserve, HonestPet organizes the trip from the breeder's home to yours in New Jersey. The puppy gets a final vet exam with breathing checked at rest and after play, then travels in a climate-controlled delivery vehicle or, if you've chosen to fly, in the cabin with a flight nanny, never as cargo. You'll have the timeline before departure, a summer handoff kept out of the heat, and a message at each stage.
Short, 1 to 2 hours into Newark, with a nonstop almost always available, which is the best case for a brachycephalic puppy. Your Frenchie spends the flight in a ventilated carrier at the nanny's feet in the cabin, never in the hold. For most New Jersey addresses, though, ground delivery to the door takes no longer than the airport run would.
In some cases. When the breeder's location and schedule allow, HonestPet can set up a visit so you can meet the puppy and the parents and listen to the adults breathe after a few minutes of play. We keep breeder locations private and they live in different areas, so visits are arranged family by family rather than offered as open appointments.
