THE HONESTPET DIFFERENCE

Why Missouri Families Trust HonestPet for a French Bulldog

Buying a puppy online takes trust. Here's what you can count on when you work with us.

Raised in Breeders' Homes

Missouri families have seen what a kennel-raised Frenchie looks like, and ours aren't that. Our breeders raise their litters in the house, where the puppies learn the dishwasher, the garage door, and the grandkids before they ever leave, and that's why a HonestPet Frenchie settles into a Central West End condo, a Lee's Summit two-story, or a Lake of the Ozarks weekend house the first evening.

Handled From Day Three

Our breeders begin Early Neurological Stimulation when puppies are three days old and follow Puppy Culture practices until they’re ready to join their new families. Short, gentle daily handling helps puppies become more comfortable with new experiences as they grow.

Parent Health Records

Each puppy’s listing identifies the DNA testing status of both mom and dad. Ask to review available parent health records, including any breathing, spine, hip, and knee assessments; screening coverage varies by parent.

Honest Puppy Matching

We'll be straight about which puppy fits your home, not just which one looks best in the listing. The quietest breather for a couple in a Plaza apartment who'll carry the dog to brunch, the sturdier one for a St. Charles family with kids who'll have it at every ballgame, in the shade with a water bowl.

A Guarantee in Writing

Every puppy comes with a 10-year genetic health guarantee and a digital copy of their vet and vaccine records.

Support for Life

Message our Care360 Team at 10 weeks or 10 years. We stay in touch with our families for the life of the dog.

STATEWIDE DELIVERY

French Bulldog Puppies Delivered Anywhere in Missouri

Every HonestPet French Bulldog is raised in a vetted breeder's home, and the stores and brokers that move Missouri's kennel puppies are never part of it. Missouri families choose free ground delivery to the door or a flight nanny who carries the puppy in the cabin into Lambert, Kansas City, or a regional airport. Flat-faced breeds can't go in cargo, so cabin is the only flight we book, and summer handoffs across the state are set for the cool of the morning.

ABOUT THE BREED

Why French Bulldogs Fit Missouri, From the Loop to the Lake

A French Bulldog is a muscular 20 to 28 pounds with bat ears, a wrinkled face, and a comedian's sense of timing, and it wants a short walk, a long nap, and a lap during the Cardinals game. Missouri hands the breed a hard summer and a real winter. A St. Louis July, with humidity rolling off the river, is more than a flat face can cool through, so the puppy lives in air conditioning and walks early. A January on the Kansas side means a sweater, short walks, and a towel for the salt.

Apartment-Friendly Size

A grown HonestPet Frenchie weighs 20 to 28 pounds, which is under the pet cap in most Central West End and Plaza-area buildings, fits a carrier for the trip to the Lake, and is light enough to carry across a hot parking lot at Busch Stadium, which from June on is how this breed crosses one.

Short, Smooth Coat

French Bulldogs have short, smooth coats and do shed. Regular brushing helps manage loose hair, and their skin folds need gentle cleaning and drying. They are not a hypoallergenic breed.

Playful Family Companions

Frenchies are playful and affectionate. Supervise interactions with children, teach gentle handling, and give your puppy a quiet place to rest. Keep play short and cool rather than encouraging rough play or long chases.

Patient, Positive Training

A Frenchie can be clever and independent. Use short sessions, rewards, and consistent potty routines to build good habits. Our lifetime training support helps you work through puppy manners without harsh methods.

Short Walks, Cool Play

A couple of short walks and some fetch down the hallway is all the exercise a Frenchie wants. In a Missouri summer, walk before the humidity builds and again after dark, keep it to fifteen minutes, and come in at the first loud pant; in winter, a sweater and ten minutes. Forest Park and Loose Park are ideal Frenchie walks in spring and fall. On the Lake of the Ozarks, Table Rock, or any dock on the Missouri, a life vest goes on before the puppy steps on the boat, because French Bulldogs sink.

Made for Company

French Bulldogs enjoy being near their people. Build up time alone gradually, and arrange company and potty breaks when you will be away for long stretches. An air-conditioned home and a predictable routine help them stay comfortable.

GETTING YOUR PUPPY HOME

Three Ways to Get Your French Bulldog Home

Most Missouri families take free ground delivery to the door, and for a flat-faced puppy a Midwestern drive in a climate-controlled vehicle is the gentlest trip there is. If you'd rather fly, a flight nanny carries your Frenchie in the cabin to one of five Missouri airports; cargo isn't allowed for French Bulldogs, and we wouldn't use it regardless. Either way, we set the date with you and keep updates coming until the puppy is on your couch.

Most Popular

Ground Transport

Ground delivery is what we recommend for a Frenchie, and Missouri sits close to many of our breeders: cooled in summer, heated in winter, a ventilated crate, brief stops, and a handoff timed for morning in July or moved into the garage in January. Most puppies sleep the whole way and wake up in your driveway.

Pick Up at the Breeder

Prefer to meet your puppy before it travels? When the breeder's location and schedule allow, HonestPet can arrange an in-person visit before your Frenchie heads to Missouri.

Flight Nanny

A flat $799 to any Missouri airport we serve. Your Frenchie flies in a ventilated soft carrier at the nanny's feet in the cabin, the only way this breed is allowed to fly, and Lambert and Kansas City both take nonstops from most breeder regions, which keeps a brachycephalic puppy's transit short. You collect the puppy from the nanny in person at arrivals.

HEALTH FIRST

French Bulldog Health and Parent Screening

French Bulldogs need particular attention to breathing, heat tolerance, and spine and joint health. Parent screening and available records vary by dog; ask to review the findings for the parents of the puppy you are considering. A DNA test or veterinary exam is not a guarantee against future breathing or mobility problems, and your vet can help plan ongoing care.

Parents & puppies

Airway and Breathing

Flat-faced dogs can have narrowed nostrils and other airway problems. Ask what breathing assessments are available for the parents, and discuss your puppy's breathing with your vet. Snoring and poor exercise tolerance deserve attention rather than being dismissed as normal.

Parents & puppies

Spine and Back Health

Ask about the parents' spine-health history and any available veterinary findings. French Bulldogs can develop spinal problems; keeping them lean and using ramps instead of repeated jumps can help with daily care, but does not eliminate the risk.

Parents & puppies

Hips and Knees

Review any available hip and knee assessments for the parents with our team. Your vet can check your puppy's gait and joints and advise on suitable exercise. Do not assume every parent has had the same examinations.

Parents & puppies

Eye Health

Ask which parent eye examinations or genetic results are available. Frenchies' prominent eyes need care; contact your vet about redness, squinting, or discharge, and protect the eyes during play.

Puppies

Skin Folds and Care

Discuss skin-fold cleaning and any signs of irritation with your vet. Keep folds clean and dry, watch for itching or redness, and ask for guidance before using skin products. Short coats still need regular brushing.

Parents

Parent Health Records

Each puppy’s listing identifies the DNA testing status of both mom and dad. Ask to review available parent health and genetic records before reserving. Genetic results do not replace a clinical assessment of breathing, spine, or joint health.

Puppies

Vet Exam

Before a Frenchie leaves for Missouri, a licensed vet gives it a complete exam with the breed's trouble spots in focus: how open the nostrils are, breathing at rest and after a few minutes of play, the spine, the hips and knees, and the skin folds. The vet issues the certificate of veterinary inspection required for interstate travel, and the exam notes go into the puppy's digital records for your St. Louis, Kansas City, or Springfield vet.

Puppies

Shots, Deworming, Microchip

Core vaccines are current for the puppy's age, and the deworming record goes back to the first weeks. Your Missouri vet finishes the series, including the rabies shot nearly every Missouri city and county requires by 3 to 4 months, and should start heartworm prevention at the first visit, since heartworm is well established across the state. Ask about fold care in humid weather and about a winter weight check, because a Frenchie gains fast when it's too cold to walk and extra weight narrows the airway. The chip is implanted before departure, and we help transfer the registration to you.

French Bulldog Puppy FAQs

Every puppy comes with a vet exam, age-appropriate vaccinations, deworming, a microchip, digital records, lifetime training and support, and free ground delivery to your home.

Yes. Most Missouri families take free ground delivery to the door, which keeps a Frenchie in a climate-controlled vehicle the whole way. In-cabin flight nanny delivery is also available into St. Louis Lambert, Kansas City, Springfield, Columbia, and Joplin, depending on route and availability, with the puppy at the nanny's feet in the cabin. We never fly a French Bulldog as cargo.

Yes. French Bulldogs have short, smooth coats that shed, and they are not hypoallergenic. Regular brushing helps manage loose hair. If allergies are a concern, discuss the individual puppy with our team before deciding.

Our French Bulldogs typically finish between 20 and 28 pounds. Review the individual puppy’s estimated adult size and parent information with our team, and check your building's pet policy before reserving.

Your puppy comes home with a starter bag of food, a blanket that smells like their littermates, a toy, microchip details, and a digital copy of their vet and vaccine records.

Pick an available puppy then send us an inquiry. After we talk, review the current reservation amount for your puppy before placing your deposit. The deposit goes toward the total price, and the balance is due before go-home day.

Parent testing varies by breeder and by dog. Review the available DNA testing status and health records for the puppy’s mom and dad with our team, including any breathing, spine, hip, and knee assessments. Every puppy receives a veterinary exam, age-appropriate vaccinations, deworming, and a microchip before going home. Your vet can help plan ongoing French Bulldog care; screening does not guarantee freedom from future health problems.

Each breeder may have a different preferred puppy food, so we provide the specific brand and formula your puppy is currently eating to help make the transition to your home as smooth as possible. If you decide to switch foods, we recommend transitioning gradually to help avoid digestive upset.

Our puppies go home at 8 weeks old.

THE JOURNEY HOME

How Frenchie Delivery to Missouri Works

Free door-to-door ground delivery is how most of our Missouri French Bulldogs arrive. If you'd prefer to fly, the flight nanny brings the puppy in the cabin to one of five Missouri airports, carrier at their feet in cabin air the entire way.

What ground delivery looks like

  1. We set the date together.Once the vet clears your puppy to travel, we schedule a delivery day and give you an arrival window.
  2. Your puppy rides with a trained handler. They travel in their own crate in a climate-controlled vehicle, with regular stops for water, food, and potty breaks.
  3. We keep you posted. Our delivery team sends updates along the way and lets you know when your puppy is getting close.
  4. We bring your puppy to your door.Your handler brings the puppy and starter bag to your door and goes over the season's rules before leaving, humidity in summer, cold and salt in winter. In a downtown St. Louis or Kansas City building they'll coordinate access in advance, and in July the handoff is set for early morning, since a French Bulldog shouldn't wait in Missouri humidity.
  5. Help them settle in.Have a crate, a few puppy pads, water, and their food ready so your puppy can rest after the trip.

MISSOURI QUESTIONS

Getting a French Bulldog in Missouri: Your Questions Answered

Missouri's kennel industry, humidity, lake days, local licenses, and how the trip works: what Missouri Frenchie families ask us most.

Missouri has no statewide ban, and because the state licenses more commercial breeders than any other, a store Frenchie here usually comes from a very large kennel a county or two away, bred for volume and never checked for the breathing problems that define the breed. A store can't show you the mother or the home. HonestPet is not a pet store. We connect Missouri families directly with vetted breeders who raise French Bulldogs in their homes and share the parents' screening before you reserve.

Yes, and the Central West End and the Plaza are full of them. A Frenchie rarely barks, needs very little exercise, and is content in a one-bedroom as long as the AC runs. The condition is the summer: a flat-faced dog can't handle a St. Louis or Kansas City afternoon in July, so plan early walks, keep them short, and never leave the puppy in a car. Check your building's weight limit, which a Frenchie clears nearly everywhere, and plan on a dog walker if you're downtown all day.

That depends on where you live. Missouri has no statewide license; St. Louis City, St. Louis County, Kansas City, Columbia, and Springfield each issue their own, and each wants a current rabies certificate first. Rabies is a local rule in Missouri as well, and nearly every city and county sets the deadline at 3 to 4 months. Fees and renewal dates are on your city or county animal control site.

After you reserve, HonestPet coordinates the trip from the breeder's home to yours in Missouri. The puppy gets a final vet exam with breathing checked at rest and after play, then rides in a climate-controlled delivery vehicle or in the cabin with a flight nanny, never in cargo. You'll know the schedule in advance, the handoff stays out of the heat or cold, and you'll get a message at each step.

Short, about 1 to 2 hours, and Lambert and Kansas City both take nonstops, which is the easy case for a brachycephalic puppy. Your Frenchie stays in a ventilated carrier at the nanny's feet in the cabin the whole flight. The hold is never an option for a French Bulldog, on any airline.

In some cases. When the breeder's location and schedule allow, HonestPet can set up a visit so you can meet the puppy and the parents and listen to the adults breathe after a few minutes of play. Because our breeders are in different places and we protect their privacy, visits are arranged individually rather than offered as drop-in appointments.
