THE HONESTPET DIFFERENCE

Why Mississippi Families Choose HonestPet for Their Frenchie

Buying a puppy online takes trust. Here's what you can count on when you work with us.

Raised in Breeders' Homes

Our breeders raise French Bulldogs in the house, where the litter learns a screen door, an SEC Saturday on the TV, and a six-year-old before anything else. A Frenchie that grew up in a family kitchen instead of a kennel building settles into a Fondren bungalow, a Madison two-story, or a Gulf-front condo in Gulfport the first evening, not the third week.

Handled From Day Three

Our breeders begin Early Neurological Stimulation when puppies are three days old and follow Puppy Culture practices until they’re ready to join their new families. Short, gentle daily handling helps puppies become more comfortable with new experiences as they grow.

Parent Health Records

Each puppy’s listing identifies the DNA testing status of both mom and dad. Ask to review available parent health records, including any breathing, spine, hip, and knee assessments; screening coverage varies by parent.

Honest Puppy Matching

We'll point you to the puppy that breathes easiest, which in a Mississippi August is the most important thing we can tell you about a French Bulldog, and to the temperament that fits your home. The calmest pup for a retired couple in Ocean Springs, the sturdier one for a Brandon family with kids who'll have it at every ballgame, in the shade with a water bowl.

A Guarantee in Writing

Every puppy comes with a 10-year genetic health guarantee and a digital copy of their vet and vaccine records.

Support for Life

ABOUT THE BREED

Why French Bulldogs Fit Mississippi, With the AC Running

A French Bulldog is a compact 20 to 28 pounds of bat ears, folds, and comic timing, and it wants a short walk, a long nap, and a porch to supervise from, which makes it a natural for a Mississippi house. The summer is the hard part. The humidity that sits on the state from May into September is close to the worst in the country, and a flat face simply can't cool a dog through air that wet, so a Mississippi Frenchie lives in air conditioning, walks in the dark, and skips the tailgate at the Grove until October.

Apartment-Friendly Size

Our French Bulldogs land between 20 and 28 pounds. That's under the pet cap in most Jackson and Gulf Coast apartment buildings, fits the carrier you'll want ready for hurricane season, and is light enough to carry across hot sand in Biloxi or a hot parking lot at Vaught-Hemingway, which from June on is how this breed crosses either one.

Short, Smooth Coat

French Bulldogs have short, smooth coats and do shed. Regular brushing helps manage loose hair, and their skin folds need gentle cleaning and drying. They are not a hypoallergenic breed.

Playful Family Companions

Frenchies are playful and affectionate. Supervise interactions with children, teach gentle handling, and give your puppy a quiet place to rest. Keep play short and cool rather than encouraging rough play or long chases.

Patient, Positive Training

A Frenchie can be clever and independent. Use short sessions, rewards, and consistent potty routines to build good habits. Our lifetime training support helps you work through puppy manners without harsh methods.

Short Walks, Cool Play

A Frenchie's entire exercise program is two short walks and a little play on the rug. In a Mississippi summer, walk before seven and after dark, keep it to ten or fifteen minutes, and come inside at the first heavy pant; the Natchez Trace in October is a fine Frenchie outing, the same road at two in July is not. On the Ross Barnett Reservoir, the Gulf, or any bayou dock, a life vest goes on before the puppy is near the water, because French Bulldogs cannot swim and Mississippi water has alligators in it.

Made for Company

French Bulldogs enjoy being near their people. Build up time alone gradually, and arrange company and potty breaks when you will be away for long stretches. An air-conditioned home and a predictable routine help them stay comfortable.

GETTING YOUR PUPPY HOME

Three Ways to Get Your French Bulldog Home

Most Mississippi families take free ground delivery straight to the door, which for a flat-faced puppy is the gentlest route, and in summer the last leg runs before dawn. If you'd rather fly, a flight nanny carries your Frenchie in the cabin to one of four airports serving Mississippi; airlines won't take a French Bulldog in cargo, and neither would we. Whichever you choose, we settle the date together and keep you posted until the puppy is on your porch.

Most Popular

Ground Transport

Ground delivery is our first choice for a Frenchie, and the Mississippi route is planned around the humidity: cooled vehicle the whole way, a shaded and ventilated crate, brief stops, and a handoff before the heat index climbs. Most puppies sleep from the breeder's driveway to your porch and never see an airport.

Pick Up at the Breeder

Want to meet your puppy first? When the breeder's location and schedule line up, HonestPet can help arrange an in-person visit before your Frenchie heads to Mississippi.

Flight Nanny

A flat $799 into any of the airports we serve for Mississippi. Your Frenchie rides in a ventilated soft carrier at the nanny's feet in the cabin, the only way this breed should ever fly, and the nanny books a nonstop into Jackson or Gulfport whenever one exists so a brachycephalic puppy isn't sitting through a layover. The nanny walks out at arrivals and hands you the puppy.

HEALTH FIRST

French Bulldog Health and Parent Screening

French Bulldogs need particular attention to breathing, heat tolerance, and spine and joint health. Parent screening and available records vary by dog; ask to review the findings for the parents of the puppy you are considering. A DNA test or veterinary exam is not a guarantee against future breathing or mobility problems, and your vet can help plan ongoing care.

Parents & puppies

Airway and Breathing

Flat-faced dogs can have narrowed nostrils and other airway problems. Ask what breathing assessments are available for the parents, and discuss your puppy's breathing with your vet. Snoring and poor exercise tolerance deserve attention rather than being dismissed as normal.

Parents & puppies

Spine and Back Health

Ask about the parents' spine-health history and any available veterinary findings. French Bulldogs can develop spinal problems; keeping them lean and using ramps instead of repeated jumps can help with daily care, but does not eliminate the risk.

Parents & puppies

Hips and Knees

Review any available hip and knee assessments for the parents with our team. Your vet can check your puppy's gait and joints and advise on suitable exercise. Do not assume every parent has had the same examinations.

Parents & puppies

Eye Health

Ask which parent eye examinations or genetic results are available. Frenchies' prominent eyes need care; contact your vet about redness, squinting, or discharge, and protect the eyes during play.

Puppies

Skin Folds and Care

Discuss skin-fold cleaning and any signs of irritation with your vet. Keep folds clean and dry, watch for itching or redness, and ask for guidance before using skin products. Short coats still need regular brushing.

Parents

Parent Health Records

Each puppy’s listing identifies the DNA testing status of both mom and dad. Ask to review available parent health and genetic records before reserving. Genetic results do not replace a clinical assessment of breathing, spine, or joint health.

Puppies

Vet Exam

Every Frenchie bound for Mississippi gets a full exam from a licensed vet before departure, with the breed's weak points front and center: nostril openings, breathing at rest and after play, spine alignment, hips and knees, and the skin folds. The vet issues the certificate of veterinary inspection Mississippi requires for dogs entering the state, and the exam notes go into the puppy's digital records for your Jackson, Gulf Coast, or Oxford vet.

Puppies

Shots, Deworming, Microchip

Core vaccines are complete for the puppy's age, and the deworming log runs back to the whelping box. Your Mississippi vet finishes the series, including the rabies shot state law requires for every dog and whose tag is your dog's registration in much of the state, and should start heartworm prevention at the very first visit, because Mississippi's heartworm rate is among the highest anywhere and a Frenchie's airway can't afford it. Ask how to keep the face folds and tail pocket dry in this humidity, since yeast follows damp skin, and how to keep the puppy lean, since in this breed weight is a breathing problem. The chip goes in before the trip, and we register it to you at the handoff.

QUESTIONS ANSWERED

French Bulldog Puppy FAQs

Prices vary by puppy. See each available puppy’s listing for the current price, and ask our team to explain the total before reserving. Every puppy comes with a vet exam, age-appropriate vaccinations, deworming, a microchip, digital records, lifetime training and support, and free ground delivery to your home.

Yes. Most Mississippi families take free ground delivery to the door, with the last leg driven in the cool hours in summer so a Frenchie never meets the heat. In-cabin flight nanny delivery is also available into Jackson, Gulfport-Biloxi, Hattiesburg-Laurel, and Memphis for DeSoto County, depending on route and availability, with the puppy at the nanny's feet in the cabin. A French Bulldog never flies as cargo.

Yes. French Bulldogs have short, smooth coats that shed, and they are not hypoallergenic. Regular brushing helps manage loose hair. If allergies are a concern, discuss the individual puppy with our team before deciding.

Our French Bulldogs typically finish between 20 and 28 pounds. Review the individual puppy’s estimated adult size and parent information with our team, and check your building's pet policy before reserving.

Your puppy comes home with a starter bag of food, a blanket that smells like their littermates, a toy, microchip details, and a digital copy of their vet and vaccine records.

Pick an available puppy then send us an inquiry. After we talk, review the current reservation amount for your puppy before placing your deposit. The deposit goes toward the total price, and the balance is due before go-home day.

Parent testing varies by breeder and by dog. Review the available DNA testing status and health records for the puppy’s mom and dad with our team, including any breathing, spine, hip, and knee assessments. Every puppy receives a veterinary exam, age-appropriate vaccinations, deworming, and a microchip before going home. Your vet can help plan ongoing French Bulldog care; screening does not guarantee freedom from future health problems.

Each breeder may have a different preferred puppy food, so we provide the specific brand and formula your puppy is currently eating to help make the transition to your home as smooth as possible. If you decide to switch foods, we recommend transitioning gradually to help avoid digestive upset.

Our puppies go home at 8 weeks old.

THE JOURNEY HOME

How Frenchie Delivery to Mississippi Works

Free ground delivery to the door, timed around the heat, is how most of our Mississippi French Bulldogs arrive. Families who'd rather fly book the flight nanny, who brings the puppy in the cabin to one of four airports serving Mississippi, carrier at their feet in cabin air from boarding to arrivals.

What ground delivery looks like

  1. We set the date together.Once the vet clears your puppy to travel, we schedule a delivery day and give you an arrival window.
  2. Your puppy rides with a trained handler. They travel in their own crate in a climate-controlled vehicle, with regular stops for water, food, and potty breaks.
  3. We keep you posted. Our delivery team sends updates along the way and lets you know when your puppy is getting close.
  4. We bring your puppy to your door.Your handler brings the puppy and starter bag to the door and goes over the Mississippi heat rules before leaving. In a downtown Jackson building or a Gulf-front condo they'll coordinate with the front desk ahead of time, and from May through September the handoff is scheduled for early morning, because a French Bulldog shouldn't wait in Mississippi humidity.
  5. Help them settle in.Have a crate, a few puppy pads, water, and their food ready so your puppy can rest after the trip.

MISSISSIPPI QUESTIONS

Getting a French Bulldog in Mississippi: Your Questions Answered

Humidity, hurricane plans, Gulf weekends, rabies tags, pet store rules, and how delivery works: what Mississippi Frenchie families ask us most.

Mississippi has no statewide ban, so a few stores still sell French Bulldogs, shipped in from large out-of-state kennels where nobody evaluated the parents' breathing, and priced high because Frenchies are the most profitable puppy those kennels produce. A store can't show you the mother or the home. HonestPet is not a pet store. We connect Mississippi families directly with vetted breeders who raise Frenchies at home, share the parents' screening, and deliver to your door.

Yes, with the air conditioning on. A Frenchie rarely barks, needs very little exercise, and is content in a Fondren apartment or a Gulfport condo as long as the AC runs from May through September, because a flat-faced dog can't handle a Mississippi afternoon at midday. Walks happen early and short, a parked car is off-limits, and on the Coast a carrier stays packed for hurricane season. Most Mississippi buildings set a weight cap well above a Frenchie, but confirm yours.

It depends on the city. Mississippi has no statewide license, and in much of the state the rabies tag your vet issues is your Frenchie's registration, but a number of cities require a separate annual license, so a call to your city clerk or animal control office settles it. Statewide, every dog must have the rabies vaccine and wear the tag.

Once you've reserved, HonestPet arranges the trip from the breeder's home to your Mississippi address around the heat. A final vet exam, breathing evaluated at rest and after activity, comes first; then the puppy travels in a climate-controlled vehicle with the last leg in the cool hours, or in the cabin with a flight nanny, and cargo is never an option. The schedule reaches you before departure and a message arrives at every handoff.

Typically 2 to 3 hours, and the nanny books a nonstop into Jackson or Gulfport whenever one exists, because a layover is the last thing a brachycephalic puppy needs. The puppy is in a ventilated carrier at the nanny's feet for the entire flight. The hold is never an option for a French Bulldog.

In some cases. If the breeder's location and schedule allow it, HonestPet can arrange a visit so you meet the puppy, see the parents, and hear how they breathe after a few minutes of play. Our breeders live in different states and we keep their addresses private, so visits are arranged individually rather than offered as walk-ins.
