THE HONESTPET DIFFERENCE
Why Kentucky Families Choose HonestPet for Their French Bulldog
Buying a puppy online takes trust. Here's what you can count on when you work with us.
Raised in Breeders' Homes
Our breeders raise French Bulldogs in the family room, where the litter learns a screen door, a Derby party, and a kid's basketball bouncing off the wall before it ever leaves. A Frenchie that grew up in a home instead of a kennel building walks into a Highlands shotgun house, a Chevy Chase bungalow in Lexington, or a Fort Mitchell colonial and settles in the first evening.
Handled From Day Three
Our breeders begin Early Neurological Stimulation when puppies are three days old and follow Puppy Culture practices until they’re ready to join their new families. Short, gentle daily handling helps puppies become more comfortable with new experiences as they grow.
Parent Health Records
Each puppy’s listing identifies the DNA testing status of both mom and dad. Ask to review available parent health records, including any breathing, spine, hip, and knee assessments; screening coverage varies by parent.
Honest Puppy Matching
We'll tell you which puppy fits your life, even if it isn't the one you've already named after a bourbon. The quietest breather for a Louisville couple in a Butchertown loft, the sturdier one for a Georgetown family with kids and a fenced yard who'll have it at every Little League game, in the shade with a water bowl.
A Guarantee in Writing
Every puppy comes with a 10-year genetic health guarantee and a digital copy of their vet and vaccine records.
Support for Life
Message our Care360 Team at 10 weeks or 10 years. We stay in touch with our families for the life of the dog.
STATEWIDE DELIVERY
French Bulldog Puppies Delivered Anywhere in Kentucky
Each French Bulldog HonestPet places was raised in a vetted breeder's home; pet stores and brokers are never part of it. Kentucky families choose free ground delivery to the door or a flight nanny who carries the puppy in the cabin into Louisville, Lexington, CVG, or a western airport. Flat-faced breeds are barred from cargo, so cabin is the only flight we book, and from June through September Ohio Valley handoffs are set for early morning.

Why French Bulldogs Fit Kentucky, Bourbon Trail to Bluegrass
A French Bulldog is a stocky 20 to 28 pounds with bat ears, a wrinkled face, and a sense of humor, and it wants what a Louisville shotgun house or a Lexington condo offers: a short walk, a warm couch, and company. It barely barks and doesn't need a yard. What Kentucky adds is an Ohio Valley summer, humid from June into September, and a spring pollen season that ranks among the worst in the country, which matters for a dog whose nose is already narrow. A flat face can't cool a dog through that humidity, so the breed lives in air conditioning and walks early; the pollen means a daily face wipe from March through May.
Apartment-Friendly Size
Our Frenchies grow to 20 to 28 pounds. That's under the pet cap in most downtown Louisville and Lexington buildings, fits a carrier for a Bourbon Trail weekend, and is light enough to carry across a hot parking lot at Keeneland or Churchill Downs, which with this breed is how you'll cross one in July.
Short, Smooth Coat
French Bulldogs have short, smooth coats and do shed. Regular brushing helps manage loose hair, and their skin folds need gentle cleaning and drying. They are not a hypoallergenic breed.
Playful Family Companions
Frenchies are playful and affectionate. Supervise interactions with children, teach gentle handling, and give your puppy a quiet place to rest. Keep play short and cool rather than encouraging rough play or long chases.
Patient, Positive Training
A Frenchie can be clever and independent. Use short sessions, rewards, and consistent potty routines to build good habits. Our lifetime training support helps you work through puppy manners without harsh methods.
Short Walks, Cool Play
A Frenchie asks for two short walks a day and a little play on the rug, nothing more. In a Kentucky summer, walk before the humidity builds and again after dark, keep it to fifteen minutes, and come in at the first heavy pant. The Red River Gorge is a fine fall weekend if the trail is short and shaded; the Big Four Bridge at noon in July is not. On Lake Cumberland, Kentucky Lake, or any dock on the Ohio, a life vest goes on before the puppy steps aboard, because French Bulldogs cannot swim.
Made for Company
French Bulldogs enjoy being near their people. Build up time alone gradually, and arrange company and potty breaks when you will be away for long stretches. An air-conditioned home and a predictable routine help them stay comfortable.

GETTING YOUR PUPPY HOME
Three Ways to Get Your French Bulldog Home
Most Kentucky families take free ground delivery straight to the door, and for a flat-faced puppy a short drive in a climate-controlled vehicle is the ideal trip. If you'd rather fly, a flight nanny carries your Frenchie in the cabin to one of five airports serving Kentucky; cargo is closed to French Bulldogs by airline rule, and by ours. Either way, the date is set with you and the updates run until the puppy is on your couch.
Most Popular
Ground Transport
Ground delivery is what we recommend for a Frenchie, and Kentucky is a short run from many of our breeders: cooled vehicle, ventilated crate, brief stops, and a handoff timed for early morning in summer. Most puppies doze from the breeder's driveway to yours and never set foot in an airport.
Pick Up at the Breeder
Prefer to meet your puppy before it travels? When the breeder's location and schedule allow, HonestPet can arrange an in-person visit before your Frenchie heads to Kentucky.
Flight Nanny
A flat $799 to any airport we serve for Kentucky. Your Frenchie flies in a ventilated soft carrier at the nanny's feet in the cabin, the only way this breed is allowed to fly, and Louisville and CVG both take nonstops from most breeder regions, which keeps a brachycephalic puppy's transit short. The nanny hands the puppy to you in person at arrivals.

HEALTH FIRST
French Bulldog Health and Parent Screening
French Bulldogs need particular attention to breathing, heat tolerance, and spine and joint health. Parent screening and available records vary by dog; ask to review the findings for the parents of the puppy you are considering. A DNA test or veterinary exam is not a guarantee against future breathing or mobility problems, and your vet can help plan ongoing care.
Parents & puppies
Airway and Breathing
Flat-faced dogs can have narrowed nostrils and other airway problems. Ask what breathing assessments are available for the parents, and discuss your puppy's breathing with your vet. Snoring and poor exercise tolerance deserve attention rather than being dismissed as normal.
Parents & puppies
Spine and Back Health
Ask about the parents' spine-health history and any available veterinary findings. French Bulldogs can develop spinal problems; keeping them lean and using ramps instead of repeated jumps can help with daily care, but does not eliminate the risk.
Parents & puppies
Hips and Knees
Review any available hip and knee assessments for the parents with our team. Your vet can check your puppy's gait and joints and advise on suitable exercise. Do not assume every parent has had the same examinations.
Parents & puppies
Eye Health
Ask which parent eye examinations or genetic results are available. Frenchies' prominent eyes need care; contact your vet about redness, squinting, or discharge, and protect the eyes during play.
Puppies
Skin Folds and Care
Discuss skin-fold cleaning and any signs of irritation with your vet. Keep folds clean and dry, watch for itching or redness, and ask for guidance before using skin products. Short coats still need regular brushing.
Parents
Parent Health Records
Each puppy’s listing identifies the DNA testing status of both mom and dad. Ask to review available parent health and genetic records before reserving. Genetic results do not replace a clinical assessment of breathing, spine, or joint health.
Puppies
Vet Exam
Before a Frenchie leaves for Kentucky, a licensed vet gives it a complete exam with the breed's trouble spots in focus: how open the nostrils are, breathing at rest and after a few minutes of play, the spine, the hips and knees, and the skin folds. The vet issues the certificate of veterinary inspection Kentucky requires for dogs entering the state, and the exam notes go into the puppy's digital records for your Louisville, Lexington, or Northern Kentucky vet.
Puppies
Shots, Deworming, Microchip
The puppy's core vaccines are current for its age, and it has been dewormed on a rotation since it was a couple of weeks old. Your Kentucky vet finishes the series, including the rabies shot state law requires by 4 months, and should start heartworm prevention at the first visit, since the Ohio Valley's mosquito season runs from April into October. Ask about managing spring pollen on the face folds and about keeping the puppy lean, because in a Frenchie weight is a breathing issue before it's anything else. The chip is implanted before departure and we help move the registration to you.

Every puppy comes with a vet exam, age-appropriate vaccinations, deworming, a microchip, digital records, lifetime training and support, and free ground delivery to your home.
Yes. Most Kentucky families take free ground delivery to the door, which for a Frenchie is a short drive in a climate-controlled vehicle. In-cabin flight nanny delivery is also available into Louisville, Lexington, Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky, Paducah, and Owensboro, depending on route and availability, with the puppy at the nanny's feet in the cabin. No French Bulldog we place flies as cargo.
Yes. French Bulldogs have short, smooth coats that shed, and they are not hypoallergenic. Regular brushing helps manage loose hair. If allergies are a concern, discuss the individual puppy with our team before deciding.
Our French Bulldogs typically finish between 20 and 28 pounds. Review the individual puppy’s estimated adult size and parent information with our team, and check your building's pet policy before reserving.

Parent testing varies by breeder and by dog. Review the available DNA testing status and health records for the puppy’s mom and dad with our team, including any breathing, spine, hip, and knee assessments. Every puppy receives a veterinary exam, age-appropriate vaccinations, deworming, and a microchip before going home. Your vet can help plan ongoing French Bulldog care; screening does not guarantee freedom from future health problems.
Each breeder may have a different preferred puppy food, so we provide the specific brand and formula your puppy is currently eating to help make the transition to your home as smooth as possible. If you decide to switch foods, we recommend transitioning gradually to help avoid digestive upset.
Free ground delivery to the door is how most of our Kentucky French Bulldogs arrive. If you'd rather fly, the flight nanny brings the puppy in the cabin to one of five airports serving Kentucky, carrier at their feet in cabin air from boarding to arrivals.

What ground delivery looks like
We set the date together.Once the vet clears your puppy to travel, we schedule a delivery day and give you an arrival window.
Your puppy rides with a trained handler. They travel in their own crate in a climate-controlled vehicle, with regular stops for water, food, and potty breaks.
We keep you posted. Our delivery team sends updates along the way and lets you know when your puppy is getting close.
We bring your puppy to your door.Your handler brings the puppy and starter bag to your door and goes over the heat and breathing basics before heading out. In a downtown Louisville or Lexington building they'll coordinate with the front desk in advance, and from June through September the handoff is scheduled for early morning, since a French Bulldog shouldn't wait in Ohio Valley humidity.
Help them settle in.Have a crate, a few puppy pads, water, and their food ready so your puppy can rest after the trip.

KENTUCKY QUESTIONS
Getting a French Bulldog in Kentucky: Your Questions Answered
Humidity, pollen, lake days, city licenses, pet store rules, and how delivery works: what Kentucky Frenchie families ask us most.
Kentucky has no statewide ban, so a few stores still sell French Bulldogs, most of them shipped in from large kennels in Ohio, Indiana, and Missouri where nobody evaluated the parents' breathing. A store can't show you the mother or the home. HonestPet is not a pet store. We connect Kentucky families directly with vetted breeders who raise Frenchies at home, share the parents' screening, and deliver to your door.
Yes, and NuLu and downtown Lexington are full of them. A Frenchie rarely barks, needs very little exercise, and is content in a one-bedroom as long as the AC runs. The condition is the summer: a flat-faced dog can't handle a Louisville afternoon in July, so plan early walks, keep them short, and never leave the puppy in a car. Spring pollen is the other Kentucky note, so wipe the face daily from March to May. Check your building's weight cap, which a Frenchie clears nearly everywhere.
That depends on your city or county. Kentucky has no statewide license, but Louisville Metro and Lexington-Fayette both require an annual one tied to a current rabies certificate, and many counties have their own. Statewide, every dog must have the rabies vaccine by 4 months. Your city or county animal services page has the details.
Once you've reserved, HonestPet coordinates the trip from the breeder's home to yours in Kentucky. A final vet exam, breathing checked at rest and after play, comes first; then the puppy rides in a climate-controlled vehicle or in the cabin with a flight nanny, and cargo is never used. The schedule comes to you ahead of time, summer handoffs stay out of the heat, and a message arrives at each step.
Short, about 1 to 2 hours, and Louisville and CVG both take nonstops, which is the easy case for a brachycephalic puppy. For the whole flight your Frenchie is in a ventilated carrier at the nanny's feet in the cabin. The hold is never an option for a French Bulldog, on any airline. For much of the state, ground delivery is just as quick door to door.
Sometimes. When the breeder's location and schedule permit, HonestPet can arrange a visit so you can meet the puppy and the parents and hear how the adults breathe after a bit of play. Our breeders live in different places and we keep their locations private, so visits are arranged one family at a time rather than offered as open appointments.
