THE HONESTPET DIFFERENCE
Why Idaho Families Choose HonestPet for a French Bulldog
Buying a puppy online takes trust. Here's what you can count on when you work with us.
Raised in Breeders' Homes
Our breeders raise every litter inside the house, so by eight weeks the puppies have already met the dishwasher, the doorbell, and a toddler. A Frenchie that spent its first eight weeks in a family instead of a kennel building settles into a North End bungalow, a Meridian new-build, or a house on the lake in Coeur d'Alene the first night.
Handled From Day Three
Our breeders begin Early Neurological Stimulation when puppies are three days old and follow Puppy Culture practices until they’re ready to join their new families. Short, gentle daily handling helps puppies become more comfortable with new experiences as they grow.
Parent Health Records
Each puppy’s listing identifies the DNA testing status of both mom and dad. Ask to review available parent health records, including any breathing, spine, hip, and knee assessments; screening coverage varies by parent.
Honest Puppy Matching
We pair the puppy with the family it suits, not the family with the puppy that photographs best. For a couple in a downtown Boise apartment who'll walk the dog on the Greenbelt every morning, that's the calm pup that breathes easiest; for a Nampa family with a yard and kids, it's the sturdier one that wants a job in every game.
A Guarantee in Writing
Every puppy comes with a 10-year genetic health guarantee and a digital copy of their vet and vaccine records.
Support for Life
Message our Care360 Team at 10 weeks or 10 years. We stay in touch with our families for the life of the dog.
STATEWIDE DELIVERY
French Bulldog Puppies Delivered Anywhere in Idaho
Every HonestPet French Bulldog is raised in the home of a breeder we've vetted; no store or broker is ever involved. Idaho families choose free ground delivery to the door or a flight nanny who carries the puppy in the cabin into Boise, Idaho Falls, Twin Falls, Sun Valley, or Spokane for the Panhandle. Flat-faced breeds can't fly cargo, so cabin is the only flight we book, and because the trip is a long one, the nanny takes nonstops wherever they exist and the ground route includes an overnight when the distance calls for it.

A French Bulldog is a 20-to-28-pound comedian with bat ears and a flat face, and it wants exactly what a Boise bungalow offers: a short walk, a warm couch, and not much else. Idaho's climate asks for a plan at both ends. A Treasure Valley summer runs past 100, dry but still too hot for a short airway at midday, and August brings wildfire smoke that a brachycephalic dog handles worse than any other breed. Winter in Idaho Falls or Coeur d'Alene means a real coat and short walks. And the elevation climbs fast: Boise is a modest 2,700 feet, but Sun Valley sits at 5,900 and Island Park higher, so mountain trips wait until the puppy is settled.
Apartment-Friendly Size
Our French Bulldogs top out at 20 to 28 pounds. That's under the pet cap in most downtown Boise and Meridian apartment buildings, fits a carrier for the drive up to McCall, and is light enough to carry up the stairs of a North End walk-up, which you'll do while the puppy is growing to protect its spine.
Short, Smooth Coat
French Bulldogs have short, smooth coats and do shed. Regular brushing helps manage loose hair, and their skin folds need gentle cleaning and drying. They are not a hypoallergenic breed.
Playful Family Companions
Frenchies are playful and affectionate. Supervise interactions with children, teach gentle handling, and give your puppy a quiet place to rest. Keep play short and cool rather than encouraging rough play or long chases.
Patient, Positive Training
A Frenchie can be clever and independent. Use short sessions, rewards, and consistent potty routines to build good habits. Our lifetime training support helps you work through puppy manners without harsh methods.
Short Walks, Cool Play
Two short walks and some play on the rug are all the exercise a Frenchie needs, and the Greenbelt at seven in the morning is close to perfect. On the hot days, walk early, keep the puppy on the shaded side, and stay off the foothills trails, which are too steep and too exposed for a flat-faced dog. During wildfire smoke, keep a Frenchie indoors entirely. On Lake Coeur d'Alene, Payette Lake, Lucky Peak, or the Boise River, a life vest goes on before the puppy is anywhere near the water, because French Bulldogs sink and Idaho water is cold.
Made for Company
French Bulldogs enjoy being near their people. Build up time alone gradually, and arrange company and potty breaks when you will be away for long stretches. An air-conditioned home and a predictable routine help them stay comfortable.

GETTING YOUR PUPPY HOME
Three Ways to Get Your French Bulldog Home
Most Idaho families take free ground delivery to the door, which for a Frenchie is a long but entirely controlled trip in a cooled vehicle. Families who prefer to fly use our flight nanny, who carries the puppy in the cabin to one of five airports serving Idaho on a nonstop wherever one exists; cargo is never used for a French Bulldog, by airline rule and by ours. Either way, we lock in the date with you and keep the updates coming until the puppy is home.
Most Popular
Ground Transport
Ground delivery is our preference for a Frenchie, and the Idaho route is planned for the distance: climate-controlled vehicle, ventilated crate, short stops, an overnight if the drive calls for it, and a handoff timed for a cool part of the day in the Treasure Valley in summer. Your Frenchie arrives rested at your front door, not at a terminal.
Pick Up at the Breeder
Hoping to meet your puppy first? If the breeder's location and schedule make it possible, HonestPet can help arrange an in-person visit before your Frenchie makes the trip to Idaho.
Flight Nanny
A flat $799 to any airport we serve for Idaho. Your Frenchie flies in a ventilated soft carrier at the nanny's feet in the cabin, the only way this breed is permitted to fly, and the nanny books a nonstop into Boise whenever one exists so a flat-faced puppy isn't sitting through a layover. The nanny meets you at arrivals in Boise and puts the puppy in your arms.

HEALTH FIRST
French Bulldog Health and Parent Screening
French Bulldogs need particular attention to breathing, heat tolerance, and spine and joint health. Parent screening and available records vary by dog; ask to review the findings for the parents of the puppy you are considering. A DNA test or veterinary exam is not a guarantee against future breathing or mobility problems, and your vet can help plan ongoing care.
Parents & puppies
Airway and Breathing
Flat-faced dogs can have narrowed nostrils and other airway problems. Ask what breathing assessments are available for the parents, and discuss your puppy's breathing with your vet. Snoring and poor exercise tolerance deserve attention rather than being dismissed as normal.
Parents & puppies
Spine and Back Health
Ask about the parents' spine-health history and any available veterinary findings. French Bulldogs can develop spinal problems; keeping them lean and using ramps instead of repeated jumps can help with daily care, but does not eliminate the risk.
Parents & puppies
Hips and Knees
Review any available hip and knee assessments for the parents with our team. Your vet can check your puppy's gait and joints and advise on suitable exercise. Do not assume every parent has had the same examinations.
Parents & puppies
Eye Health
Ask which parent eye examinations or genetic results are available. Frenchies' prominent eyes need care; contact your vet about redness, squinting, or discharge, and protect the eyes during play.
Puppies
Skin Folds and Care
Discuss skin-fold cleaning and any signs of irritation with your vet. Keep folds clean and dry, watch for itching or redness, and ask for guidance before using skin products. Short coats still need regular brushing.
Parents
Parent Health Records
Each puppy’s listing identifies the DNA testing status of both mom and dad. Ask to review available parent health and genetic records before reserving. Genetic results do not replace a clinical assessment of breathing, spine, or joint health.
Puppies
Vet Exam
Before departure for Idaho, a licensed vet examines every Frenchie with the breed's known weak points front and center: nostril openings, breathing at rest and after play, spine alignment, hips and knees, and the skin folds. The vet issues the certificate of veterinary inspection Idaho requires for dogs entering the state, and the exam notes, breathing included, go into the puppy's digital records for your Boise, Idaho Falls, or Coeur d'Alene vet.
Puppies
Shots, Deworming, Microchip
Every core vaccine due for the puppy's age has been given, and deworming has run on a routine since the early weeks. Your Idaho vet completes the series, including the rabies shot your city will require before a license, since Idaho has no statewide rabies law and leaves it to local rule, and should talk with you about a nose balm for the dry air, a plan for smoke season, and keeping the puppy lean, because weight narrows an already narrow airway. The microchip is in before departure, and we transfer the registration to you at the handoff.

French Bulldog Puppy FAQs
Prices vary by puppy. See each available puppy’s listing for the current price, and ask our team to explain the total before reserving. Every puppy comes with a vet exam, age-appropriate vaccinations, deworming, a microchip, digital records, lifetime training and support, and free ground delivery to your home.
Yes. Most Idaho families take free ground delivery to the door, with the puppy in a climate-controlled vehicle for the whole trip west. In-cabin flight nanny delivery is also available into Boise, Idaho Falls, Twin Falls, Sun Valley, and Spokane for the Panhandle, depending on route and availability, with the puppy at the nanny's feet in the cabin. No French Bulldog we place flies as cargo.
Yes. French Bulldogs have short, smooth coats that shed, and they are not hypoallergenic. Regular brushing helps manage loose hair. If allergies are a concern, discuss the individual puppy with our team before deciding.
Our French Bulldogs typically finish between 20 and 28 pounds. Review the individual puppy’s estimated adult size and parent information with our team, and check your building's pet policy before reserving.

Pick an available puppy then send us an inquiry. After we talk, review the current reservation amount for your puppy before placing your deposit. The deposit goes toward the total price, and the balance is due before go-home day.
Parent testing varies by breeder and by dog. Review the available DNA testing status and health records for the puppy’s mom and dad with our team, including any breathing, spine, hip, and knee assessments. Every puppy receives a veterinary exam, age-appropriate vaccinations, deworming, and a microchip before going home. Your vet can help plan ongoing French Bulldog care; screening does not guarantee freedom from future health problems.
Each breeder may have a different preferred puppy food, so we provide the specific brand and formula your puppy is currently eating to help make the transition to your home as smooth as possible. If you decide to switch foods, we recommend transitioning gradually to help avoid digestive upset.
Free ground delivery to the door is how most of our Idaho French Bulldogs arrive. For families who'd rather fly, the flight nanny brings the puppy in the cabin to one of five airports serving Idaho, carrier at their feet in cabin air the entire way and nonstop wherever possible.

What ground delivery looks like
We set the date together.Once the vet clears your puppy to travel, we schedule a delivery day and give you an arrival window.
Your puppy rides with a trained handler. They travel in their own crate in a climate-controlled vehicle, with regular stops for water, food, and potty breaks.
We keep you posted. Our delivery team sends updates along the way and lets you know when your puppy is getting close.
We bring your puppy to your door. The handler brings the puppy and its starter bag to your door and runs through the first-day basics for a flat-faced breed, smoke plan included. In a downtown Boise building they'll coordinate access ahead of time, and in the Treasure Valley in summer the handoff is scheduled for early morning, since a French Bulldog shouldn't wait in high-desert heat.
Help them settle in.Have a crate, a few puppy pads, water, and their food ready so your puppy can rest after the trip.

IDAHO QUESTIONS
Getting a French Bulldog in Idaho: Your Questions Answered
Dry heat, smoke season, mountain elevation, city licensing, pet store rules, and the long trip west: what Idaho Frenchie families want to know.
Idaho has no statewide ban, so a few stores still sell French Bulldogs, most of them shipped in from large out-of-state kennels where nobody evaluated the parents' breathing. A store can't show you the mother or the home. HonestPet is not a pet store. We connect Idaho families directly with vetted breeders who raise Frenchies in their homes, share the parents' airway and spine screening, and coordinate delivery to your door.
A very good one. A Frenchie almost never barks, needs little exercise, and is happy in a downtown Boise one-bedroom with a morning Greenbelt walk, and the dry climate is kind to the breed's skin folds. The things to plan for are a July afternoon, when a flat-faced dog needs air conditioning and no midday walk, and August smoke, when it needs to stay inside. Most Boise buildings' weight limits are well above a Frenchie, but confirm yours.
That depends on your city. Idaho has no statewide license, but Boise licenses through the Idaho Humane Society, and Meridian, Nampa, Caldwell, Idaho Falls, Pocatello, Coeur d'Alene, and most other cities issue their own once your Frenchie has a current rabies certificate. Idaho is one of the few states with no statewide rabies law, so the rabies requirement is a city rule as well. A spayed or neutered Frenchie pays the lower fee.
Once you reserve, HonestPet plans the trip from the breeder's home to yours in Idaho. First comes a final vet exam with the breathing checked; then the puppy travels in a climate-controlled vehicle, overnighting if the distance calls for it, or in the cabin with a flight nanny on a nonstop, never in cargo. You'll have the full itinerary before departure and a message at each leg.
Longer than most, 4 to 5 hours depending on the breeder's location, which is why the nanny insists on a nonstop into Boise for a brachycephalic puppy and keeps the carrier where the cabin air moves. Your Frenchie spends the entire flight in a ventilated carrier under the seat in front of the nanny. A French Bulldog never flies in the hold.
In some cases. When the breeder's location and schedule make it workable, HonestPet can set up a visit so you meet the puppy and the parents and hear the adults breathe after a few minutes of play. Because our breeders live in several states and keep their addresses private, each visit is arranged for one family at a time.
