Delaware is small enough that we can put a French Bulldog on any doorstep in the state in a single morning, and since 2026 its pet stores can't sell one at all. HonestPet connects Delaware families with vetted breeders who raise Frenchie litters at home and screen the parents for the breathing and spine issues the breed is known for. Every puppy arrives vet-checked and microchipped, and ground delivery is free to any Delaware address, Greenville to Middletown to Bethany Beach.

THE HONESTPET DIFFERENCE
Why Delaware Families Choose HonestPet for a French Bulldog
Buying a puppy online takes trust. Here's what you can count on when you work with us.
Raised in Breeders' Homes
Our breeders raise French Bulldogs in the house, where the litter learns a doorbell, a dishwasher, and a six-year-old before anything else. A Frenchie that spent its first eight weeks in a family kitchen instead of a kennel run walks into a Trolley Square rowhome, a Hockessin colonial, or a Lewes beach house and acts like it's always lived there.
Handled From Day Three
Our breeders begin Early Neurological Stimulation when puppies are three days old and follow Puppy Culture practices until they’re ready to join their new families. Short, gentle daily handling helps puppies become more comfortable with new experiences as they grow.
Parent Health Records
Each puppy’s listing identifies the DNA testing status of both mom and dad. Ask to review available parent health records, including any breathing, spine, hip, and knee assessments; screening coverage varies by parent.
Honest Puppy Matching
We'll point you to the puppy that fits, not the one with the best photo. For a retired couple in a Sussex County community who'll walk the dog on the Junction and Breakwater Trail, that's the calm pup that breathes quietest; for a Middletown family with a yard and kids, it's the sturdier one that wants to be in on everything.
A Guarantee in Writing
Every puppy comes with a 10-year genetic health guarantee and a digital copy of their vet and vaccine records.
Support for Life
Message our Care360 Team at 10 weeks or 10 years. We stay in touch with our families for the life of the dog.
STATEWIDE DELIVERY
French Bulldog Puppies Delivered Anywhere in Delaware
HonestPet French Bulldogs come from vetted breeders who raise them at home, and with Delaware's store sales ending, that's the only route left anyway. Nearly every Delaware family takes free ground delivery to the door, though a flight nanny can bring the puppy in the cabin into Philadelphia, BWI, or Salisbury. Flat-faced breeds don't fly cargo, so cabin is the only flight we book, and summer handoffs at the beaches are timed for early morning.

Why French Bulldogs Fit Delaware, Rowhome to Beach House
A French Bulldog is a compact 20 to 28 pounds of bat ears, folds, and comic timing, and it wants a short walk, a long nap, and a porch to supervise from, which makes it a natural for a Wilmington rowhome or a Rehoboth cottage. Delaware hands the breed a humid summer, worst at the beaches in July and August, and a flat face can't move enough air to cool a dog through that, so the breed lives in air conditioning and walks at the edges of the day. A Delaware winter is mild enough that a sweater and short walks are all it takes.
Apartment-Friendly Size
Our French Bulldogs land between 20 and 28 pounds. That's under the pet cap in most Wilmington Riverfront buildings and Sussex County communities, fits a carrier for the ferry to Cape May, and is light enough to carry across hot sand at Rehoboth or up the narrow stairs of a Trolley Square rowhome, which you'll do while the puppy is growing to protect its spine.
Short, Smooth Coat
French Bulldogs have short, smooth coats and do shed. Regular brushing helps manage loose hair, and their skin folds need gentle cleaning and drying. They are not a hypoallergenic breed.
Playful Family Companions
Frenchies are playful and affectionate. Supervise interactions with children, teach gentle handling, and give your puppy a quiet place to rest. Keep play short and cool rather than encouraging rough play or long chases.
Patient, Positive Training
A Frenchie can be clever and independent. Use short sessions, rewards, and consistent potty routines to build good habits. Our lifetime training support helps you work through puppy manners without harsh methods.
Short Walks, Cool Play
A pair of short walks and some play on the rug is a full day's exercise for a Frenchie. In a Delaware summer, walk early and after dark, keep it to fifteen minutes, and come in at the first heavy pant; at the beaches, remember that Rehoboth and Bethany keep dogs off the sand and boardwalk during summer daytime hours anyway, and the sand is too hot for a Frenchie by ten. On the Bay, the Inland Bays, or any boat out of Lewes, a life vest goes on at the dock, because French Bulldogs cannot swim.
Made for Company
French Bulldogs enjoy being near their people. Build up time alone gradually, and arrange company and potty breaks when you will be away for long stretches. An air-conditioned home and a predictable routine help them stay comfortable.

GETTING YOUR PUPPY HOME
Three Ways to Get Your French Bulldog Home
Nearly all Delaware families take free ground delivery to the door, which for a flat-faced puppy is a short, climate-controlled drive and the easiest trip there is. If you'd prefer to fly, a flight nanny carries your Frenchie in the cabin to one of three airports serving Delaware; cargo is closed to French Bulldogs by airline rule, and by ours. Either way, we agree on the date together and keep you posted until the puppy is inside.
Most Popular
Ground Transport
Ground delivery is our first choice for a Frenchie, and Delaware is one of the shortest runs we make: cooled vehicle, ventilated crate, brief stops, and a handoff timed before the humidity builds in summer. Most puppies nap from the breeder's driveway to yours and never see an airport.
Pick Up at the Breeder
Hoping to meet your puppy first? If the breeder's location and schedule make it possible, HonestPet can help arrange an in-person visit before your Frenchie travels to Delaware.
Flight Nanny
A flat $799 into any airport we serve for Delaware. Your Frenchie rides in a ventilated soft carrier at the nanny's feet in the cabin, the only way this breed should ever fly, and Philadelphia and BWI between them take a nonstop from almost anywhere, which keeps a brachycephalic puppy's transit short. At arrivals the nanny finds you and hands over the puppy.

HEALTH FIRST
French Bulldog Health and Parent Screening
French Bulldogs need particular attention to breathing, heat tolerance, and spine and joint health. Parent screening and available records vary by dog; ask to review the findings for the parents of the puppy you are considering. A DNA test or veterinary exam is not a guarantee against future breathing or mobility problems, and your vet can help plan ongoing care.
Parents & puppies
Airway and Breathing
Flat-faced dogs can have narrowed nostrils and other airway problems. Ask what breathing assessments are available for the parents, and discuss your puppy's breathing with your vet. Snoring and poor exercise tolerance deserve attention rather than being dismissed as normal.
Parents & puppies
Spine and Back Health
Ask about the parents' spine-health history and any available veterinary findings. French Bulldogs can develop spinal problems; keeping them lean and using ramps instead of repeated jumps can help with daily care, but does not eliminate the risk.
Parents & puppies
Hips and Knees
Review any available hip and knee assessments for the parents with our team. Your vet can check your puppy's gait and joints and advise on suitable exercise. Do not assume every parent has had the same examinations.
Parents & puppies
Eye Health
Ask which parent eye examinations or genetic results are available. Frenchies' prominent eyes need care; contact your vet about redness, squinting, or discharge, and protect the eyes during play.
Puppies
Skin Folds and Care
Discuss skin-fold cleaning and any signs of irritation with your vet. Keep folds clean and dry, watch for itching or redness, and ask for guidance before using skin products. Short coats still need regular brushing.
Parents
Parent Health Records
Each puppy’s listing identifies the DNA testing status of both mom and dad. Ask to review available parent health and genetic records before reserving. Genetic results do not replace a clinical assessment of breathing, spine, or joint health.
Puppies
Vet Exam
Before departure for Delaware, a licensed vet gives every Frenchie a full exam built around the breed's weak points: nostril openings, breathing at rest and after play, spine alignment, hips and knees, and the skin folds. The vet issues the certificate of veterinary inspection Delaware requires for dogs entering the state, and the exam notes go into the puppy's digital records for your Wilmington, Dover, or Sussex County vet.
Puppies
Shots, Deworming, Microchip
Core vaccines are current for the puppy's age, and the deworming log runs back to the first weeks. Your Delaware vet finishes the series, including the rabies shot the state requires and that the statewide license application will ask about, and should start tick and heartworm prevention immediately, since Lyme is heavy in New Castle County and the Inland Bays' mosquitoes run into October. Ask how to keep the folds dry through a beach summer, and how to keep the puppy lean, since in this breed weight is a breathing problem first. The microchip goes in before departure, and we transfer it to your name with you.
QUESTIONS ANSWERED
French Bulldog Puppy FAQs
Prices vary by puppy. See each available puppy’s listing for the current price, and ask our team to explain the total before reserving. Every puppy comes with a vet exam, age-appropriate vaccinations, deworming, a microchip, digital records, lifetime training and support, and free ground delivery to your home.
Yes. Nearly all Delaware families use free ground delivery to the door, which for a Frenchie is a short, cooled drive. In-cabin flight nanny delivery is also available into Philadelphia for New Castle County, BWI for Kent County, and Salisbury for the beaches, depending on route and availability, with the puppy at the nanny's feet in the cabin. A French Bulldog never flies in the hold.
Yes. French Bulldogs have short, smooth coats that shed, and they are not hypoallergenic. Regular brushing helps manage loose hair. If allergies are a concern, discuss the individual puppy with our team before deciding.
Our French Bulldogs typically finish between 20 and 28 pounds. Review the individual puppy’s estimated adult size and parent information with our team, and check your building's pet policy before reserving.
Your puppy comes home with a starter bag of food, a blanket that smells like their littermates, a toy, microchip details, and a digital copy of their vet and vaccine records.
Pick an available puppy then send us an inquiry. After we talk, review the current reservation amount for your puppy before placing your deposit. The deposit goes toward the total price, and the balance is due before go-home day.
Parent testing varies by breeder and by dog. Review the available DNA testing status and health records for the puppy’s mom and dad with our team, including any breathing, spine, hip, and knee assessments. Every puppy receives a veterinary exam, age-appropriate vaccinations, deworming, and a microchip before going home. Your vet can help plan ongoing French Bulldog care; screening does not guarantee freedom from future health problems.
Each breeder may have a different preferred puppy food, so we provide the specific brand and formula your puppy is currently eating to help make the transition to your home as smooth as possible. If you decide to switch foods, we recommend transitioning gradually to help avoid digestive upset.
Free ground delivery to the door is how nearly every Delaware French Bulldog arrives, and in a state this size it's faster than any airport run. If you'd rather fly, the flight nanny brings the puppy in the cabin to one of three airports serving Delaware, carrier at their feet in cabin air the entire trip.

What ground delivery looks like
We set the date together.Once the vet clears your puppy to travel, we schedule a delivery day and give you an arrival window.
Your puppy rides with a trained handler. They travel in their own crate in a climate-controlled vehicle, with regular stops for water, food, and potty breaks.
We keep you posted. Our delivery team sends updates along the way and lets you know when your puppy is getting close.
We bring your puppy to your door.Your handler carries the puppy and starter bag to the door and talks through the first-night basics for a flat-faced breed before heading off. In a Wilmington Riverfront building or a gated Sussex County community they'll coordinate access ahead of time, and from June through September a beach handoff is scheduled for early morning, since a French Bulldog shouldn't wait in coastal humidity.
Help them settle in.Have a crate, a few puppy pads, water, and their food ready so your puppy can rest after the trip.

DELAWARE QUESTIONS
Getting a French Bulldog in Delaware: Your Questions Answered
The 2026 pet store law, the statewide license, beach rules, rowhome stairs, and how the trip works: what Delaware Frenchie families ask us most.
Not anymore. In 2026, Delaware became the tenth state to pass a law ending the sale of commercially bred dogs and cats in pet stores, so as it takes effect, a French Bulldog here can't come from a store window and the only question is which breeder. HonestPet is not a pet store. We connect Delaware families directly with vetted breeders who raise Frenchies at home, share the parents' airway and spine screening, and coordinate delivery to your door.
Yes to both, and the breed is popular in each. A Frenchie rarely barks, needs little exercise, and is content in a Trolley Square rowhome or a 55-plus community in Lewes. Two Delaware notes: rowhome stairs are steep, so carry the puppy up and down until it's grown to protect its spine; and a beach summer is more than a flat-faced dog can handle at midday, so plan early walks and keep the AC on. Most Sussex communities set a weight cap at 25 to 40 pounds, which a Frenchie clears.
Yes. Delaware is one of the few states with a single statewide dog license, issued through the Office of Animal Welfare and required once your Frenchie turns 6 months. The application asks for a current rabies certificate, the license is sold online in one-year or multi-year terms, and a spayed or neutered Frenchie pays less.
Once you've reserved, HonestPet organizes the trip from the breeder's home to yours in Delaware. First comes a final vet exam with the breathing checked; then the puppy rides in a climate-controlled vehicle or, if you've chosen to fly, in the cabin with a flight nanny, never in cargo. The schedule comes to you ahead of time, a summer handoff stays out of the heat, and you hear from us at each stage.
Short, usually 1 to 2 hours into Philadelphia or BWI, often nonstop, which is the easy case for a brachycephalic puppy. The puppy rides the entire flight in a ventilated carrier at the nanny's feet, and the hold is never used for a French Bulldog. For nearly every Delaware address, though, ground delivery to the door takes no longer.
Sometimes. If the breeder's location and schedule allow it, HonestPet can arrange a visit so you meet the puppy and the parents and hear the adults breathe after a few minutes of play. Our breeders are scattered across several states and value their privacy, so a visit is set up for one family at a time, not posted as open hours.
