French Bulldog Puppies for Sale in Colorado

A French Bulldog at 5,280 feet breathes thinner air than a French Bulldog anywhere else it's popular, and Colorado families who understand that end up with wonderful dogs. HonestPet connects Colorado families with vetted breeders who raise Frenchie litters at home and screen both parents for the airway and spine problems that define the breed, which at altitude matters more than anywhere. THE HONESTPET DIFFERENCE

Why Colorado Families Trust HonestPet for a French Bulldog

Buying a puppy online takes trust. Here's what you can count on when you work with us.

Raised in Breeders' Homes

Our breeders raise French Bulldogs in the house, where the puppies learn the dishwasher, the garage door, and the toddler before they're old enough to leave. A Frenchie that spent its first eight weeks in a family kitchen settles into a LoHi apartment, a Highlands Ranch two-story, or a house in Old Town Fort Collins the first night; a kennel-raised one needs weeks.

Handled From Day Three

Our breeders begin Early Neurological Stimulation when puppies are three days old and follow Puppy Culture practices until they’re ready to join their new families. Short, gentle daily handling helps puppies become more comfortable with new experiences as they grow.

Parent Health Records

Each puppy’s listing identifies the DNA testing status of both mom and dad. Ask to review available parent health records, including any breathing, spine, hip, and knee assessments; screening coverage varies by parent.

Honest Puppy Matching

We'll tell you which puppy breathes the easiest, which in Colorado's thin air is the single most useful thing we can tell you, and which has the temperament for your home. The calmest, quietest breather for a Boulder couple in a condo near Pearl Street; the sturdier one for a Castle Rock family with kids and a yard, as long as the yard has shade and the hikes stay short.

A Guarantee in Writing

Every puppy comes with a 10-year genetic health guarantee and a digital copy of their vet and vaccine records.

Support for Life

Message our Care360 Team at 10 weeks or 10 years. We stay in touch with our families for the life of the dog.

STATEWIDE DELIVERY

French Bulldog Puppies Delivered Anywhere in Colorado

Every French Bulldog HonestPet places is raised in a vetted breeder's home; stores and brokers never enter into it, and Colorado's new law closes the store route anyway. Colorado families choose free ground delivery to the door or a flight nanny who carries the puppy in the cabin into DIA or a regional airport. Flat-faced breeds can't fly cargo, so cabin is the only flight we book, and for Colorado we add something no other state gets: an altitude briefing for the first week.

ABOUT THE BREED

Why French Bulldogs Can Thrive in Colorado, a Mile Up

A French Bulldog is 20 to 28 pounds of bat ears, wrinkles, and comic timing, and it wants a short walk, a long nap, and a lap during the Broncos game, which makes it a natural for a Denver condo. Colorado's challenge for the breed isn't heat so much as air. At 5,280 feet there's about 17 percent less oxygen than at sea level, and a flat-faced dog already works harder for every breath, so a Colorado Frenchie takes a slow first week, skips the mountain towns until it's settled, and never hikes at altitude. Add Colorado's sun, which burns pale, short-coated skin fast, and its dry air, which chaps nose and folds, and you have a dog that does beautifully here with a little planning.

Apartment-Friendly Size

A grown HonestPet Frenchie weighs 20 to 28 pounds, which is under the pet cap in most LoDo and RiNo buildings, fits the carrier RTD asks for, and is light enough to carry across a hot parking lot at Red Rocks or a snowy one in Breckenridge, which with this breed is how you'll cross both.

Short, Smooth Coat

French Bulldogs have short, smooth coats and do shed. Regular brushing helps manage loose hair, and their skin folds need gentle cleaning and drying. They are not a hypoallergenic breed.

Playful Family Companions

Frenchies are playful and affectionate. Supervise interactions with children, teach gentle handling, and give your puppy a quiet place to rest. Keep play short and cool rather than encouraging rough play or long chases.

Patient, Positive Training

A Frenchie can be clever and independent. Use short sessions, rewards, and consistent potty routines to build good habits. Our lifetime training support helps you work through puppy manners without harsh methods.

Short Walks, Cool Play

A couple of short walks and some fetch down the hallway is all the exercise a Frenchie wants, and at altitude that's the right amount. Walk early in summer, since Denver's dry 95 is still 95 for a flat face, and keep the puppy in the shade with water; Colorado sun burns a Frenchie's nose, ears, and pale belly, so a dog-safe sunscreen is a real thing here. Day trips above 8,000 feet wait until the puppy has been in Colorado a few weeks, and even then it's a walk around Breck, not a trail. At Chatfield, Cherry Creek, or any mountain lake, a life vest goes on first, because French Bulldogs sink.

Made for Company

French Bulldogs enjoy being near their people. Build up time alone gradually, and arrange company and potty breaks when you will be away for long stretches. An air-conditioned home and a predictable routine help them stay comfortable.

GETTING YOUR PUPPY HOME

Three Ways to Get Your French Bulldog Home

Most Colorado families take free ground delivery straight to the door, and for a flat-faced puppy the drive up to the Front Range is a gentle way to meet the altitude. If you'd rather fly, a flight nanny carries your Frenchie in the cabin to one of five Colorado airports; cargo isn't allowed for French Bulldogs, and we wouldn't use it regardless. Either way, we set the date with you, send the altitude briefing before the puppy lands, and keep updates coming until it's home.

Most Popular

Ground Transport

Ground delivery is what we recommend for a Frenchie headed to Colorado, partly because the climb is gradual: the puppy's body adjusts over hours in a climate-controlled vehicle rather than stepping off a plane into thin air. Ventilated crate, short stops, a handoff timed for a cool morning in summer, and the puppy wakes up in your driveway at 5,280 feet already half-acclimated.

Pick Up at the Breeder

Prefer to meet your puppy before it travels? When the breeder's location and schedule allow, HonestPet can arrange an in-person visit before your Frenchie heads to Colorado.

Flight Nanny

A flat $799 to any Colorado airport we serve. Your Frenchie flies in a ventilated soft carrier at the nanny's feet in the cabin, the only way this breed is allowed to fly, and the nanny books a nonstop into DIA and keeps the first hour on the ground slow and quiet while the puppy meets the altitude. You collect the puppy from the nanny in person at arrivals.

HEALTH FIRST

French Bulldog Health and Parent Screening

French Bulldogs need particular attention to breathing, heat tolerance, and spine and joint health. Parent screening and available records vary by dog; ask to review the findings for the parents of the puppy you are considering. A DNA test or veterinary exam is not a guarantee against future breathing or mobility problems, and your vet can help plan ongoing care.

Parents & puppies

Airway and Breathing

Flat-faced dogs can have narrowed nostrils and other airway problems. Ask what breathing assessments are available for the parents, and discuss your puppy's breathing with your vet. Snoring and poor exercise tolerance deserve attention rather than being dismissed as normal.

Parents & puppies

Spine and Back Health

Ask about the parents' spine-health history and any available veterinary findings. French Bulldogs can develop spinal problems; keeping them lean and using ramps instead of repeated jumps can help with daily care, but does not eliminate the risk.

Parents & puppies

Hips and Knees

Review any available hip and knee assessments for the parents with our team. Your vet can check your puppy's gait and joints and advise on suitable exercise. Do not assume every parent has had the same examinations.

Parents & puppies

Eye Health

Ask which parent eye examinations or genetic results are available. Frenchies' prominent eyes need care; contact your vet about redness, squinting, or discharge, and protect the eyes during play.

Puppies

Skin Folds and Care

Discuss skin-fold cleaning and any signs of irritation with your vet. Keep folds clean and dry, watch for itching or redness, and ask for guidance before using skin products. Short coats still need regular brushing.

Parents

Parent Health Records

Each puppy’s listing identifies the DNA testing status of both mom and dad. Ask to review available parent health and genetic records before reserving. Genetic results do not replace a clinical assessment of breathing, spine, or joint health.

Puppies

Vet Exam

Before a Frenchie leaves for Colorado, a licensed vet gives it a complete exam with extra weight on the airway, because altitude magnifies any breathing issue: nostril width, breathing at rest and after a few minutes of play, the spine, the hips and knees, and the skin folds. The vet issues the certificate of veterinary inspection Colorado requires for dogs entering the state, and the exam notes go into the puppy's digital records for your Denver, Boulder, or Colorado Springs vet.

Puppies

Shots, Deworming, Microchip

Core vaccines are current for the puppy's age, and the deworming record goes back to the first weeks. Your Colorado vet finishes the series, including the rabies shot your city will require before a license, and should listen to the puppy's breathing at that first visit now that it's at altitude, since a Frenchie that was fine at sea level can sound different at 5,280 feet. Ask about a nose balm for the dry air, a dog-safe sunscreen for the summer, and keeping the puppy lean, because at altitude extra weight on a short airway costs more than anywhere. The chip goes in before the trip, and we help you register it in your name.

French Bulldog Puppy FAQs

Prices vary by puppy. See each available puppy’s listing for the current price, and ask our team to explain the total before reserving. Every puppy comes with a vet exam, age-appropriate vaccinations, deworming, a microchip, digital records, lifetime training and support, and free ground delivery to your home.

Yes. Most Colorado families take free ground delivery to the door, which lets a flat-faced puppy climb to altitude gradually in a climate-controlled vehicle. In-cabin flight nanny delivery is also available into Denver International, Colorado Springs, Northern Colorado Regional in Loveland, Grand Junction, and Durango, depending on route and availability, with the puppy at the nanny's feet in the cabin. We never fly a French Bulldog as cargo.

Yes. French Bulldogs have short, smooth coats that shed, and they are not hypoallergenic. Regular brushing helps manage loose hair. If allergies are a concern, discuss the individual puppy with our team before deciding.

Our French Bulldogs typically finish between 20 and 28 pounds. Review the individual puppy’s estimated adult size and parent information with our team, and check your building's pet policy before reserving.

Your puppy comes home with a starter bag of food, a blanket that smells like their littermates, a toy, microchip details, and a digital copy of their vet and vaccine records.

Pick an available puppy then send us an inquiry. After we talk, review the current reservation amount for your puppy before placing your deposit. The deposit goes toward the total price, and the balance is due before go-home day.

Parent testing varies by breeder and by dog. Review the available DNA testing status and health records for the puppy’s mom and dad with our team, including any breathing, spine, hip, and knee assessments. Every puppy receives a veterinary exam, age-appropriate vaccinations, deworming, and a microchip before going home. Your vet can help plan ongoing French Bulldog care; screening does not guarantee freedom from future health problems.

Each breeder may have a different preferred puppy food, so we provide the specific brand and formula your puppy is currently eating to help make the transition to your home as smooth as possible. If you decide to switch foods, we recommend transitioning gradually to help avoid digestive upset.

Our puppies go home at 8 weeks old.

THE JOURNEY HOME

How Frenchie Delivery to Colorado Works

Free door-to-door ground delivery is how most of our Colorado French Bulldogs arrive, and for a flat-faced puppy it's also the easiest introduction to the altitude. If you'd prefer to fly, the flight nanny brings the puppy in the cabin to one of five Colorado airports, carrier at their feet in cabin air the entire way.

What ground delivery looks like

  1. We set the date together.Once the vet clears your puppy to travel, we schedule a delivery day and give you an arrival window.
  2. Your puppy rides with a trained handler. They travel in their own crate in a climate-controlled vehicle, with regular stops for water, food, and potty breaks.
  3. We keep you posted. Our delivery team sends updates along the way and lets you know when your puppy is getting close.
  4. We bring your puppy to your door.Your handler brings the puppy and starter bag to your door and goes over the altitude briefing before leaving: a quiet first week, water everywhere, no mountain trips yet, and what a normal versus a labored breath sounds like. In a downtown Denver or Boulder building they'll coordinate access in advance, and in summer the handoff is set for early morning.
  5. Help them settle in.Have a crate, a few puppy pads, water, and their food ready so your puppy can rest after the trip.

COLORADO QUESTIONS

Getting a French Bulldog in Colorado: Your Questions Answered

Altitude, sun, dry air, the 2026 pet store law, city licenses, and how a flat-faced puppy travels to a mile high: what Colorado Frenchie families ask most.

Not for much longer, and in most cities not at all. Colorado's 2026 law ends the sale of commercially bred dogs and cats in pet stores statewide, and Denver, Aurora, Fort Collins, and more than 20 other cities had already banned it locally, so a Frenchie in Colorado comes from a breeder. HonestPet is not a pet store. We connect Colorado families directly with vetted breeders who raise French Bulldogs at home, share the parents' airway and spine screening, and coordinate delivery to your door.

Yes, and thousands do, but the first week matters. Thinner air makes every breath harder for a flat-faced dog, so a new Frenchie in Denver gets a quiet first week indoors, short walks, water everywhere, and no trips to the mountains until it's settled. Watch for breathing that stays fast at rest or a blue tinge to the gums, and call your vet if you see either. Once acclimated, a Frenchie is a great Denver apartment dog: quiet, low-exercise, and happy on a Wash Park bench. It still shouldn't hike above 8,000 feet, ever.

That depends on your city. Colorado has no statewide license; Denver, Aurora, Colorado Springs, Boulder, Fort Collins, and most other cities issue their own and want a current rabies certificate first. Your city's animal services page has the fee, which is lower for spayed and neutered dogs.

After you reserve, HonestPet coordinates the trip from the breeder's home to yours in Colorado with the altitude in mind. The puppy gets a final vet exam with breathing checked at rest and after play, then rides in a climate-controlled delivery vehicle, climbing gradually, or in the cabin with a flight nanny on a nonstop, never in cargo. You'll know the schedule in advance, get the altitude briefing before arrival, and hear from us at each step.

Typically 2 to 3 hours, and the nanny books a nonstop into DIA so a brachycephalic puppy isn't sitting through a layover. Your Frenchie stays in a ventilated carrier at the nanny's feet in the cabin the whole flight, and the nanny keeps the first hour after landing slow while the puppy meets the altitude. The hold is never an option for a French Bulldog.

Sometimes. Depending on where the breeder is and what their schedule looks like, HonestPet can arrange a visit so you can meet the puppy and the parents and listen to how the adults breathe after they've been running around. Our breeders are in different states and value their privacy, so visits are set up individually rather than offered as drop-in hours.
