At HonestPet, we are committed to ensuring the highest standards of animal welfare, ethical breeding, and customer trust. To maintain these standards, all breeders on our platform must adhere to HonestPet`s policies, health requirements, and ethical guidelines. To ensure fairness while protecting our community, we have implemented the following 3-Strike Policy for breeder infractions.
What We Monitor
To be proactive, not reactive, we continuously monitor key areas to ensure the well-being of every puppy and maintain the integrity of our breeder network.
Health Records
Up-to-date vaccinations and veterinary health clearances
Living Conditions
Cleanliness, humane treatment, and safe environments.
Breeder Communication
Transparent and consistent communication to maintain accountability
Delivery Standards
Transportation safety, timeliness, and proper handling.
Breeder Partnership Standards
The following requirements apply to all breeder partners on the HonestPet platform. These standards ensure consistency, health compliance, and listing transparency across our network. Adherence to these requirements is mandatory to remain listed and in good standing.
Health & Veterinary Requirements
Final veterinary check required prior to delivery
Fecal test required prior to delivery
Breeder is responsible for payment of final vet check and fecal test
Puppies must be up to date on vaccinations and deworming
Documentation must be submitted prior to listing approval or delivery
Media & Listing Requirements
Kennel photos required
Both parent photos required
One video per puppy listing required
Accurate puppy details (DOB, estimated adult weight, coat type, etc.)
Facility & Oversight
HonestPet may conduct kennel visits (virtual or in-person)
Breeders must maintain clean and safe environments at all times
HonestPet reserves the right to verify conditions at any time

Our 3-Strike System
Written Notice
What Happens:
Breeder receives a formal written notice of the infraction.
Expectations:
Breeder must review the issue and make immediate changes to bring operations into compliance.
Support:
HonestPet will provide clear guidance on how to correct the issue and remain in good standing.
Probation
What Happens:
A second infraction places the breeder on probationary status.
During Probation:
- All breeder listings will be placed on hold (paused) and unavailable to customers until the issue is resolved.
- Breeder must provide evidence and demonstrate corrective actions to address the infraction.
Next Step:
Only after HonestPet confirms compliance will listings be reinstated and full privileges restored.
Suspension or Ban
What Happens:
A third infraction results in indefinite suspension or permanent removal from the HonestPet platform.
Outcome:
- Breeder’s account is suspended immediately.
- Future participation on the platform is determined at HonestPet’s sole discretion.
Purpose:
This ensures only ethical, compliant breeders remain active in our network.

Severity Clause
HonestPet reserves the right to bypass any step in this policy for severe infractions, including animal welfare violations or fraudulent behavior.
Appeals
Breeders may submit a written appeal for review within 10 days of receiving a strike. HonestPet leadership will review appeals on a case-by-case basis.

All breeders are encouraged to maintain proactive communication with HonestPet to prevent issues before they escalate.
